Women in Hung Phuc ward (Vinh City) join hands for the environment.

(Baonghean) - With awareness and a sense of responsibility towards the living environment and the landscape of each street, women in Hung Phuc ward (Vinh City) have participated in many activities to contribute to the environment and build a clean, beautiful, and civilized urban area.

The Women's Association of the ward actively built and directed the "Clean, Environmentally Friendly Consumption" model in Quang Phuc and Tan Phuc wards; propagated and encouraged members to reduce the use of plastic bags by using reusable shopping baskets; and established an environmental protection club.

In addition, the Women's Association of the ward directed the Women's Branches to mobilize members to participate in the movement of collecting waste and cleaning up public areas. In particular, they strengthened management and improved the quality of self-managed "Green - Clean - Beautiful" and "Civilized Alleyways" sections of roads. Monthly, quarterly, and during holidays, the women cleaned the streets and cared for the greenery.

The female members of the Women's Association of Hung Phuc ward regularly participate in general cleaning campaigns in public areas.

In the Quang Phuc Ward branch, the establishment of a core environmental protection club has led to many practical and effective activities in environmental protection. The club, comprising 35 members, is strategically placed in each neighborhood group and along each street and alleyway. They are responsible for raising awareness among female members about environmental protection and encouraging participation in environmental preservation efforts, such as cleaning and collecting waste along streets and alleyways. Currently, the entire ward has 195 members, including 145 active members (50 of whom are current officials), with 70% using reusable plastic shopping bags.

Thanks to the efforts of the women, the spontaneous garbage collection points along a street and in a specific area of ​​the neighborhood have been eliminated. This has significantly fostered awareness and a shift in the consciousness of the people in contributing to the preservation and protection of the shared environment.
