According to the leaders of Cua Lo ward People's Committee, Nghe An province, the local authorities have addressed the issue of unregulated jet skis operating on the beach, which poses a safety risk to tourists.

Recently, many locals and tourists have expressed their frustration about jet skis frequently speeding and approaching close to swimming areas to solicit customers, posing a potential risk of accidents to swimmers.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan, a tourist from Hanoi, shared: "I was swimming with my young child when suddenly a jet ski sped past just a few meters away. It felt very dangerous; a slight misstep could have caused an accident."

At the first meeting in 2025, the leaders of Cua Lo Ward People's Committee directed the implementation of many measures to rectify tourism business activities, focusing on definitively resolving the issue of unregulated jet ski operations that pose a safety risk to tourists on the beach.

Businesses have committed to immediately rectify violations and strictly comply with regulations. The People's Committee of the ward requires that jet skis not operate in the beach bathing area, must be fully equipped with rescue equipment, publicly and transparently display service prices, and operate within the permitted hours and area. At the same time, the ward police have been tasked with coordinating with relevant forces to increase patrols and strictly handle cases of deliberate violations.

Speaking to reporters, Mr. Cao Minh Tu, Chairman of the People's Committee of Cua Lo Ward, said that after decisive measures, all jet skis in the area are now operating in accordance with regulations and have been required to be moved to designated docks. Restoring order in these operations is crucial to ensuring the safety of tourists and the sustainable development of Cua Lo tourism.
