The West views Russia as a constant threat.
(Baonghean.vn) - Secretary of the Russian Federal Security Council Nikolay Patrushev stated that Russia is considered a constant threat by Western countries and they are using all their resources to fight against Moscow.
Mr. Patrushev noted that this was due to "the dismantling of the colonial system that began after World War II under the direct influence of the achievements and victories of the Soviet Union," because at that time Western countries had lost control of "their own property," and "dozens of countries around the world had gained independence."
The Secretary of the Security Council stated: “Russia is considered a constant threat by the West. Today, the entire arsenal of resources available to the adversary is being used against Russia.” The top Russian security official emphasized that this “is not just through threats or sanctions, but also through information management policies and a multi-tiered system of public opinion control.”
Patrushev explained: "In this regard, it is important to remember that military strength alone, even with advanced missile and nuclear capabilities, is not enough to counter Western geopolitical aggression. What is crucial is to confront it in an organized, large-scale war with both heart and mind."
According to Patrushev, the collapse of the Soviet Union led to "a shift in the balance of power," and Western nations took advantage of this reality to "consolidate their dominance worldwide."
A top Russian official pointed out that the US and its allies have resorted to destructive tactics. Patrushev said: “Ignoring the goals and principles of the UN Charter, they seek to replace international law with a ‘rules-based order’ of their own making.”
Mr. Patrushev stated: “The Washington administration has convinced itself of America’s supposed special purpose – world domination by pursuing a strong foreign policy without acknowledging anyone’s interests…”
The West is trying to destroy alliances that are outside its control – ASEAN, SCO, BRICS, CIS, EAEU, and others – in order to turn independent nations into its vassals.
Mr. Patrushev concluded: “The White House is obsessed with the idea of establishing a security network in the Asia-Pacific region (APR), in which Tokyo plays a crucial role. Plans are being developed to establish a NATO branch in the APR.”
He also noted that Washington "cannot give up the idea of establishing a NATO branch in the Middle East."
