The West opposes Ukraine's attack on Crimea, US missile deviates from its course
A representative of President Volodymyr Zelensky said that many senior Western politicians warned Ukraine not to take back the Crimean peninsula by force.
The Crimean peninsula was annexed by Russia in 2014 following a referendum.
Speaking to PAP news agency on May 6, Tamila Tasheva, who is in charge of issues related to the Crimean peninsula, said Kiev's preparations for a large-scale counter-offensive had sparked discussions in the West about the potential implications.

"Some Western politicians, not Western countries, are warning Ukraine. They say that taking back Crimea could lead to a nuclear war," said Ms. Tasheva.
Some politicians have questioned whether Crimea is really part of Ukraine, Tasheva said. "According to them, we should completely abandon the idea of regaining the peninsula," she said.
US missile deviated
CNN quoted US, UK and Ukrainian sources as saying that in recent months, Russia has used jamming technology to cause the HIMARS rocket artillery system that the US supports for Ukraine to go off course.
Also according to CNN, Russia's actions make GPS-guided bullets "increasingly less effective."
HIMARS, which can strike targets up to 80 kilometers away, is one of the most advanced weapons systems the United States has provided to Ukraine since Russia launched its special military operation. The United States has provided Ukraine with 38 HIMARS systems.
A Pentagon official said the US was helping Ukraine counter Russian jamming systems by adjusting targeting software, and "continuously shutting down operations to maintain effectiveness".
