Does the West acknowledge that the situation in Ukraine is deteriorating?
(Baonghean.vn) - According to the Russian news agency TASS, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated on May 6th that Western countries recognize the deteriorating situation on the front lines in Ukraine and need to consider how to avoid losing to Russia in the current conflict.
"Now we hear confessions from Western figures that Ukraine is becoming increasingly difficult… But the weapons being transferred to Ukraine are actually being assembled all over the world – more than 50 countries are involved in this. Initially, it was led by the Americans, now they are using NATO as a coordinating structure, they are holding meetings in the form of Ramstein," he said in an interview with Bosnia's ATV channel.
"The head of the Pentagon, Lloyd Austin, said a few days ago in the most recent meeting that they will never be defeated. That is, they are no longer talking about defeating Russia, but about not being defeated," the top diplomat emphasized.
According to Lavrov, such statements by Western diplomats are "a rather eloquent description of the fact that a course of action that causes 'strategic failure' for Russia will inevitably fail."
The Russian Foreign Minister pointed out: "The most serious, intelligent, and far-sighted politicians in the West realize this."
He said: "The West keeps insisting that they will not allow their citizens to die in Donbass. But let's make sure that fewer Ukrainians die in Donbass. This is racist logic that I don't even want to talk about."
