Thanh Vinh Ward disseminates information about the pilot program for the Procuratorate to initiate civil and public service lawsuits.
On the morning of January 16th, the People's Committee of Thanh Vinh Ward, in coordination with the People's Procuracy of Nghe An Province, organized a conference to disseminate Resolution No. 205/2025/QH15 of the National Assembly on piloting the People's Procuracy's initiation of civil cases for public benefit in the ward.
Speaking at the conference, the leader of the People's Procuracy of Nghe An province stated that, during the process of socio-economic development, alongside the achievements, many acts infringing upon public interests and the legitimate rights and interests of vulnerable people in society still exist. Many violations arise in areas such as the environment, land, resources, and food safety, but have not been promptly addressed due to the lack of individuals or organizations to initiate legal action, or because those affected lack the means and ability to protect their own rights.
Based on that practice, on June 24, 2025, the National Assembly issued Resolution No. 205 on piloting the People's Procuracy's initiation of civil lawsuits to protect the civil rights of vulnerable groups and safeguard public interests. This is a new regulation that helps overcome legal gaps, enhance the effectiveness of protecting public interests, ensure social justice, and, along with the requirement to maintain social order and safety, create an important basis for guaranteeing human rights and civil rights as stipulated in the Constitution.
At the conference, representatives from the People's Procuracy of Nghe An province provided information on the core contents of Resolution 205, focusing on clarifying the role of the Procuracy in initiating civil cases for public benefit when no other party initiates the lawsuit, as well as the responsibility of citizens, agencies, and organizations in detecting and reporting acts that infringe upon public interests and civil rights of vulnerable groups, especially in the areas of land, environment, food safety, and public property in urban areas.
The conference also provided time for discussions and guidance to the Heads of the Fatherland Front Committees and mediation teams on how to provide relevant information, documents, and images for timely inspection and handling by relevant authorities; it also affirmed that the Procuratorate will ensure the confidentiality of information provided by informants and will closely cooperate with local authorities in the resolution process.
Through the conference, the heads of the Fatherland Front Committees and mediation teams in the area gained a better understanding of their rights and responsibilities in protecting the common interests of the community, thereby contributing to ensuring strict adherence to the law and building a civilized and sustainable urban environment.
