Phuong Thanh said she arrived in India on September 13 to attend a two-week retreat.

Because she was attending a retreat with some Vietnamese people, Phuong Thanh was absent from the prayer session for singer Minh Thuan - her close colleague who was undergoing medical treatment - that she initiated. The short-term retreat and the head shaving were part of Phuong Thanh's long-standing plan, not just to pray for Minh Thuan.
