Truong Thi Ward is recognized as a civilized urban area.
On June 26, the People's Committee of Truong Thi Ward (Vinh City) held a ceremony to receive the title of civilized urban standard in 2024.
Attending the ceremony were comrades: Phan Duc Dong - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vinh City People's Council; leaders of provincial departments, branches and sectors; representatives of the Military Region 4 Command, the Provincial Border Guard Command. Also attending were leaders, former leaders of the City Party Committee and People's Committee and departments and branches of Vinh City; cadres and people of Truong Thi Ward.
Solidarity and consensus to build civilized urban areas
Reporting on the results achieved, at the ceremony, comrade Ho Sy Dung - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Truong Thi Ward affirmed that the cadres and people of Truong Thi Ward over the years have made efforts to unite and join hands to implement the directions of all levels and sectors. In particular, many important criteria have been built to meet standards such as urban planning, ensuring the environment and food safety; security and order; information and communication work and criteria on employment, average income, poor households in urban areas, etc.
In the ward, newly built public works are in accordance with the planning with harmonious architecture, ensuring construction standards and regulations. 100% of solid houses are in accordance with the general architecture of the urban planning. Public works in the area such as: Ho Chi Minh Square, Nguyen Tat Thanh Park, walking street, Ha Ma Temple, stadium are managed, exploited and promoted effectively by the ward, cultural values and public benefits.
Model, green, clean, and beautiful roads were formed with a value of mobilizing more than 15 billion VND from the people for the period 2021 - 2023. Currently, the ward has no temporary or dilapidated houses. 32/32 main roads of the ward have sidewalks, lighting systems and trees. Over 90% of the alleys have lighting to ensure traffic safety, security and order.
Enterprises, production and business establishments, individual production and business households, and households in the area strictly comply with environmental hygiene and food safety regulations. 100% of households have access to clean water and hygienic living facilities. Forces control and maintain security and order. Crime rates, law violations, and traffic accidents decrease annually. Fires, explosions, serious or more serious traffic accidents, racing, and illegal racing do not occur in the area. Truong Thi Ward has been recognized as meeting the standards of a "drug-free ward". The ward police are a typical and exemplary unit in security, order, and urban civilization, and are a model unit in implementing Project 06/CP.
The leaders of Truong Thi ward also spoke, affirming the determination of all cadres, party members, workers and people of all walks of life to continue to promote the spirit of solidarity, make creative efforts, constantly overcome difficulties, and unite together for a rapidly and sustainably developing Truong Thi ward, becoming a livable ward.
At the same time, determined to implement the Resolution of the Ward Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term, contributing with Vinh city to achieve the goal of "Economic - Cultural Center of the North Central region" according to Resolution 39/NQ-TW of the Politburo on building Nghe An province.
Continue to maintain and improve the criteria
Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Tran Thi Cam Tu - Vice Chairman of Vinh City People's Committee acknowledged and commended the cadres and people of Truong Thi ward for achieving many positive results in many socio-economic fields, helping to improve people's lives, striving to meet civilized urban standards. In particular, the ward was recognized as a drug-free ward, with synchronous infrastructure, and was supported and satisfied by the people to be recognized as a civilized urban area.
Truong Thi Ward was established on August 21, 1982. Up to now, Truong Thi is the administrative center of Nghe An with over 80 agencies and units located in the area associated with major cultural works such as: Ho Chi Minh Square, Nguyen Tat Thanh Park, walking street.
Vice Chairwoman of Vinh City People's Committee Tran Thi Cam Tu also emphasized that Truong Thi ward has the advantage of being the central ward of the city, associated with many important agencies and units of the province, cultural works...
Therefore, in addition to maintaining the achieved results, the ward collective needs to continue to make efforts and unite to improve the criteria of civilized urban areas. Cadres and party members continue to set an example with the people in effectively implementing the policies, guidelines, laws of the Party and State, contributing to building Vinh city into a livable city.
In addition, criteria on information, communication, health, education, and urban culture are ensured to be consistent from wards to residential areas.
On this occasion, in recognition of the contributions of cadres and people of Truong Thi ward in building a civilized urban area, the Chairman of Vinh City People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 1 collective and 3 individuals; the Chairman of Truong Thi Ward People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 6 collectives and 9 individuals.
