Vinh Tan Ward (Vinh City) celebrated its 10th anniversary.
(Baonghean.vn) - On the evening of July 1, Vinh Tan Ward (Vinh City) held a ceremony to celebrate its 10th anniversary. Attending and sharing the joy were representatives of Vinh City's leaders; wards and communes in the city; wards and communes in the province and many people in the ward.
Vinh Tan has been a residential area of Vietnamese people for a long time. In each historical period, this land has had different names and boundaries. The name Vinh Tan officially appeared in 1955 (right after peace was restored in the North), as one of five suburban communes of Vinh town.

From a suburban commune, Vinh Tan officially became an inner-city ward of Vinh City in 2008 according to Decree 45/ND-CP of the Prime Minister.
After 10 years of establishment, from a poor suburban commune, today, Vinh Tan has become a ward with a fairly fast urban development speed. The economy has grown quite well, the economic structure has shifted in the right direction. The average growth rate in the period 2015 - 2017 reached 9.3%, in 2017 the average per capita reached 43.4 million VND. Currently, the number of poor households in the whole ward has decreased to only 8 households, accounting for 0.2%...

The urban appearance of the ward has changed rapidly, the technical and social infrastructure is increasingly improved. In the period from 2010 to now, with a total amount of 107,352 billion VND, Vinh Tan ward has invested in the construction of 39 construction items. Of which, the ward budget invested 35,671 billion VND, mobilizing internal resources from the people to contribute 19,345 billion VND.
Along with economic development, national defense, security, politics and social order and safety of the ward are maintained stable. The socio-cultural field has also made remarkable progress. Many cultural institutions have been invested in construction such as the Cultural Houses of Quang Trung, Phuc Loc, Cong Hoa, Block 2, Tan Phuc... 2 cultural houses of Yen Cu and Vinh My blocks are in the process of completion to be put into use in 2018.

The school network is spacious, clean, and meets national standards such as primary schools and kindergartens. Many private schools for children have been established to meet the schooling needs of local children.
Primary health care for the people is always given attention. Caring for policy families, people with meritorious services, and poverty reduction are always given attention.

The movement of the whole people uniting to build a cultural life has been promoted. By the end of 2017, the whole ward had 7 cultural units, 44 civilized alleys, cultural residential groups, and over 85% of households in the whole ward achieved the title of cultural family. Cultural, sports and physical education activities have gradually met the enjoyment needs of the people. It is one of the units that has been leading the city for many years in participating in competitions, performances, and sports tournaments.
These proud results are creating new momentum and strength for Vinh Tan ward to rise up and make worthy contributions to the overall development of Vinh City.
