Vinh Tan Ward (Vinh City) celebrates its 10th anniversary.
(Baonghean.vn) - On the evening of July 1st, Vinh Tan ward (Vinh City) held a ceremony to celebrate its 10th anniversary. Attending and sharing in the festivities were representatives from the Vinh City leadership; wards and communes within the city; sister wards and communes from outside the province; and a large number of residents from the ward.
Vinh Tan has been inhabited by Vietnamese people for a very long time. Throughout history, this area has had different names and boundaries. The name Vinh Tan officially appeared in 1955 (immediately after peace was restored in the North), as one of the five suburban communes of Vinh town.

Vinh Tan, formerly a suburban commune, officially became an inner-city ward of Vinh City in 2008 according to Decree 45/ND-CP of the Prime Minister.
After 10 years since its establishment, Vinh Tan, once a poor suburban commune, has now become a ward with a relatively rapid pace of urban development. The economy has grown significantly, and the economic structure has shifted in the right direction. The average growth rate during the 2015-2017 period reached 9.3%, and in 2017, the average per capita income reached 43.4 million VND. Currently, the number of poor households in the ward has decreased to only 8, accounting for 0.2%...

The urban landscape of the ward has changed rapidly, with increasingly improved technical and social infrastructure. Just in the period from 2010 to the present, with a total investment of 107.352 billion VND, Vinh Tan ward has invested in the construction of 39 projects. Of this, the ward budget contributed 35.671 billion VND, and the people contributed 19.345 billion VND.
Along with economic development, national defense and security, politics, and social order in the ward have remained stable. The socio-cultural sector has also made significant progress. Many cultural institutions have been invested in and built, such as the cultural centers in Quang Trung, Phuc Loc, Cong Hoa, Block 2, and Tan Phuc blocks... Two cultural centers in Yen Cu and Vinh My blocks are currently under construction and are expected to be put into use in 2018.

The school network is well-maintained, clean, and meets national standards, including primary schools and kindergens. Many private preschools have been established to meet the educational needs of local children.
Primary healthcare for the people has always been a priority. Care for families of policy beneficiaries and those who have rendered meritorious service, as well as poverty alleviation efforts, have always been given due attention.

The movement for national unity in building a cultured way of life has been intensified. By the end of 2017, the entire ward had 7 cultural units, 44 civilized alleys and streets, and cultural residential areas, with over 85% of households achieving the status of "cultured family". Cultural and sports activities are gradually meeting the needs of the people, and the ward has been one of the leading units in the city for many years in participating in competitions, performances, and sports events.
These impressive achievements are creating new momentum and strength for Vinh Tan ward to rise up and make worthy contributions to the overall development of Vinh City.

Recognizing the significant contributions of the Party Committee, government, and people of Vinh Tan ward, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the ward's establishment, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee decided to award certificates of merit to one collective and four individuals who have made significant contributions to the local development.
On this occasion, the Vinh City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee presented a congratulatory banner to the people and officials of Vinh Tan ward bearing the inscription "10 years of construction and development".
