The third generation of the German automaker's large luxury SUV, the 2018 Cayenne, has chosen Vietnam as its first market launch in the Asia-Pacific region. The Cayenne competes in the same segment as many imported luxury SUVs in Vietnam, such as the Audi Q7, BMW X5, and Range Rover Sport.

The third generation Cayenne is sportier, with a smart structure featuring many aluminum alloy reinforcements for lighter weight, a powerful new-generation engine, and intelligent handling... but in the eyes of Porsche enthusiasts, the new generation Cayenne seems to have more of the influence of the Macan compact SUV.

The Porsche Cayenne SUV is built on the MLB platform of its parent company Volkswagen, with many details also appearing on other products such as the Audi Q7, Bentley Bentayga, and the Lamborghini Urus super sports SUV. The standard Cayenne weighs 55 kg less than its predecessor.

The front end design resembles the new generation Panamera coupe-style sedan. It features four-point LED headlights, a grille, and horizontally connected air intakes. The taillights have a continuous LED light strip connecting the brake lights, similar to the new coupe. Dual exhaust pipes are positioned on either side of the rear bumper.

The button-style center console has been replaced with a touch-screen interface.

​Inside, the new-generation Cayenne largely abandons mechanical buttons in favor of screens and touch interfaces that handle the control system's functions.

The center console now features a large 12.3-inch screen, similar to the Panamera. The instrument cluster incorporates two 7-inch screens that can be controlled via steering wheel buttons to display the information the driver needs.

On the top-of-the-line Cayenne S, the functions...Features such as night vision cameras and adaptive cruise control are also present.

The new SUV model in Vietnam has three gasoline engine options, including a 3-liter turbocharged V6 engine producing 340 horsepower in the standard version,The 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 engine has a power output.440 horsepower for the S version. Finally, there's the 4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine with 550 horsepower for the Cayenne Turbo.

In Vietnam, the Cayenne is Porsche's best-selling genuine luxury SUV model, with nearly 500 units delivered to customers since 2008.
