With English clubs investing heavily in player transfers, the season promises to be incredibly exciting and unpredictable. The Premier League currently boasts some of the best strategists in world football: Antonio Conte (Chelsea), Juergen Klopp (Liverpool), Jose Mourinho (Manchester United), Pep Guardiola (Manchester City), Arsene Wenger (Arsenal), and Mauricio Pochettino (Tottenham). Last season, they created a truly captivating race, with Conte emerging victorious as Chelsea won the title.

The well-known betting company William Hill predicts that the top four in this season's Premier League will be Man City, Chelsea, MU, and Tottenham, excluding Liverpool and Arsenal, which is quite strange considering Tottenham is not a team that spends heavily on transfers.

Pressure is mounting on manager Pep Guardiola. After two years at Man City, the young Spanish coach has been given a hefty £400 million by the owners to bring in world-class players. Man City is currently the biggest spender in the Premier League, having already spent a total of £210 million to upgrade their squad. Ederson, Danilo, Bernardo Silva, and Benjamin Mendy were brought to the Etihad Stadium with the mission of helping the team aim for major titles in the 2017/18 season.

Manager Antonio Conte had a successful season, winning the league title in his first stint at Chelsea. But now the Italian coach has the task of maintaining that success. Chelsea spent approximately £140 million to sign Alvaro Morata – a versatile striker, defensive midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko, and multi-talented center-back Antonio Rudiger. Before that, Chelsea also announced the free transfer of Willy Caballero when his contract with Man City expired. However, recent conflicts with owner Roman Abramovich have made things extremely difficult for this manager. Jose Mourinho was once sacked immediately after leading Chelsea to the Premier League title.

After a disappointing season, "The Special One" Mourinho brought in some big signings for MU: Romelu Lukaku, Nemanja Matic, and Victor Lindelof. Statistics show that teams managed by Mourinho usually reach their full potential in their second season.

Rookies and the pitch

The Premier League welcomed three new teams: Newcastle, Brighton & Hove Albion, and Huddersfield Town. Huddersfield Town became the third team to be promoted to the Premier League after a thrilling victory over Reading in the Championship play-off final on May 29th. This marks the first time in history that Huddersfield has played in the Premier League since its founding in 1972. Of course, a host of challenges await the three newcomers this season; their goal will undoubtedly be to avoid relegation.

Despite helping Watford secure their Premier League survival early on, manager Walter Mazzarri was sacked by the Vicarage Road club after the team suffered a serious slump in form towards the end of the season, losing all five matches. It is highly likely that another Italian manager, Claudio Ranieri, who previously led Leicester City to a Premier League title, will take over as Watford's manager this season.

This season, Tottenham Hotspur will play at Wembley Stadium because White Hart Lane will be demolished and rebuilt. With a capacity of 90,000 seats, Wembley is the largest stadium among Premier League teams, while AFC Bournemouth's Dean Court, with a capacity of 11,464, is considered the smallest.
