The troubled past of the man who slit the throat of a GrabBike driver to steal his motorbike.
(Baonghean.vn) - The suspect who slit the throat of a motorbike taxi driver is a long-time drug addict and was under surveillance by the Tan An Commune Police Station, Tan Ky District (Nghe An).
Authorities are frantically searching for the perpetrator who slit the throat of a motorbike taxi driver and stole his vehicle.
The suspect hailed a motorbike taxi from a motorcyclist wearing a ride-hailing service uniform, asked the victim to take him to an empty plot of land, then pulled out a knife, slashed his throat, and stole the motorbike.
On July 16th, Mr. Cao Tien Thin, Chairman of the People's Committee of Tan An commune, Tan Ky district, confirmed that the perpetrator who slashed the throat of a GrabBike driver on the evening of July 10th in Thu Duc district, Ho Chi Minh City, is a local resident. The suspect's identity was confirmed as Ta Quang Ngo (29 years old), residing in Quyet Thang hamlet, Tan An commune, Tan Ky district.
It is known that Ngo had previously served a prison sentence in Hanoi for illegally possessing narcotics. Upon returning to his hometown, due to his severe addiction, Ngo frequently stole property from his own home and neighbors to buy drugs. His father was the one who reported this to the local police.

The fact that Ngo used a knife to slit the driver's throat and rob him in Ho Chi Minh City is shocking to many, but not surprising. In connection with this incident, the Thu Duc District Police in Ho Chi Minh City have just issued decisions to initiate criminal proceedings, indict the suspect, and execute an arrest warrant against Ta Quang Ngo for the crime of "Robbery".
Meanwhile, the police are consolidating the case file to prosecute Ngo for "murder." Ngo is the suspect who used a knife to slit the throat of D.HM (46 years old, residing in Phu Yen province, living in Di An town, Binh Duong province) in order to steal his motorbike.
As previously reported, on the afternoon of July 10th, Ngo arrived at the intersection of Road 6 and Nguyen Tri Phuong Street in Nhi Dong 1 Hamlet, Di An Ward, and saw Mr. M. (a GrabBike driver) standing there, so he approached him to talk. Afterwards, Ngo asked him to take him to an empty plot of land in Hamlet 1, Binh Chieu Ward, Thu Duc District.
Upon arriving at the scene, Ngo pulled out a knife and slashed Mr. M.'s neck, injuring him and causing him to jump off the motorbike and call for help. Ngo quickly got on his motorbike and fled the scene. Mr. M. was discovered by bystanders and taken to the hospital for emergency treatment.
