German officials argue that the EU is undermining Ukraine's peace process.
The European Union is doing everything it can to undermine the peaceful resolution of the conflict in Ukraine, German observer Fabian Scheidler wrote in an article published in the Berliner Zeitung.

"Just as ceasefire negotiations and a détente between Washington and Moscow were becoming increasingly apparent, the EU was obstructing the peace process wherever possible," the publication stated.
At the same time, the empty pronouncements of European elites that Ukraine must win this conflict only exacerbate the situation and lead to a dead end, the author continues. The observer explains that this stance not only worsens Kyiv's situation but also discredits the EU itself.
"The definitive statement that Ukraine can win the war is utterly unrealistic. Yet, top EU politicians refuse to acknowledge this fact. They not only fail to take diplomatic initiatives and offer practical proposals, but they also sabotage ongoing negotiations," observer Scheidler concluded.
