Israeli official confirms Hamas leader is still alive
According to the source, Mr. Sinwar sent a number of messages to Hamas intermediaries in Qatar recently.

Yahya Sinwar, the leader of Pakistan’s radical Hamas movement, is still alive and has re-established contact with mediators in Qatar after weeks of silence, Russia’s TASS news agency reported on October 8, citing an Israeli official.
According to the source, Mr. Sinwar sent several messages to Hamas intermediaries in Qatar recently.
The Israeli source said it was unclear exactly when the messages were sent, but added that they did not reflect any softening of Hamas's position on a deal that would pave the way for a ceasefire and the release of Israeli hostages.
Earlier, the portal's security sources said the Hamas leader "was not reachable" and did not even comment on the death of Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah in an Israeli airstrike in Beirut on September 27.
