The military and civilians are working together to dismantle old houses and build new ones for the Dan Lai people.
On the morning of June 12th, local authorities and forces in Mon Son commune (Con Cuong district) simultaneously mobilized to help the Dan Lai people in the core area of Pu Mat National Park dismantle their old houses and prepare for the construction of new ones, as part of a housing program for poor and disadvantaged households.
From the early morning of June 12th, Co Phat village was bustling with activity. Mr. La Van Linh, Head of the Fatherland Front Committee of Co Phat village, Mon Son commune, said that this morning, households receiving government assistance for new construction or house repairs woke up and prepared pots of green tea to welcome military, border guard, and police forces, as well as commune officials and representatives from Pu Mat National Park, who came to help dismantle old houses and prepare for new ones.
On the morning of June 12th, the working group of Mon Son Border Guard Station provided assistance to four families in Co Phat village to dismantle their old houses. These families included Le Van Thi, Le Van Thanh, La Van Huong, and Le Van Manh. All of these families were dismantling their three-room houses to build temporary shelters before proceeding with the construction of new foundations and bases.

Mr. Le Thanh Hai, Secretary of the Party Committee of Mon Son commune, who directly participated with other forces in helping the people of Dan Lai dismantle their houses, said that according to the district's plan, this phase is expected to mobilize all local forces to help people rebuild their houses, striving to complete the work on time.
Specifically, the first phase is scheduled to take place from June 12-15, mobilizing approximately 50-55 people, including: Mon Son Border Guard Post (8-10 people); police, military, and Mon Son commune officials (14-16 people); and Pu Mat National Park staff (8-10 people). Approximately 20-25 people will also be mobilized from Co Phat village.
Phase 1 will assist 19 households in Co Phat village with dismantling, laying foundations, and constructing house bases. This includes helping 7 households dismantle and relocate their stilt houses. Support forces are divided into 4 working groups, focusing on assisting clusters of households according to the assigned and registered plans.
The forces involved in assisting the local people not only mobilized manpower but also prepared their own equipment and tools, and appointed team leaders to manage and ensure progress.
Mr. Luong Dinh Viet, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Con Cuong District Party Committee, said that on June 9, 2025, the Steering Committee for the program to mobilize and support the construction and repair of houses for people with meritorious services, the poor, and those facing housing difficulties in the district issued a directive agreeing to build new houses for the Dan Lai ethnic minority according to the design approved by the Department of Construction. The house model has an area of 50 m² with a support amount of 90 million VND.

Regarding the 20 houses requiring repairs in Khe Bung and Co Phat villages: Mon Son commune is requested to coordinate with the construction unit and the households to calculate the quantity of materials and the detailed cost of repairs, ensuring a minimum cost of 45 million VND per house.
Focus on mobilizing local resources (Police, Military, Border Guard Post, Forestry Department, various organizations, etc.) and the community to actively support the Dan Lai people in the two villages of Khe Bung and Co Phat, striving to complete the construction and repair of houses for the two villages before August 15, 2025.
