A new corps and a new fleet will be formed in Russia.
In Russia, by 2024, the size of the Armed Forces will be increased, particularly with the creation of a new corps and a new fleet, said Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, at a meeting.
"To effectively protect the independence and security of our country, a series of measures will be taken to expand, increase the size and strengthen the armed forces. In particular, next year, it is planned to create a corps comprising 7 divisions, 19 brigades, 49 regiments and 1 naval squadron," Medvedev said.

Medvedev emphasized that the situation in the world and around Russia remains tense. We are talking about both the special operations zone in Ukraine and neighboring countries where NATO is constantly increasing its military capabilities.
The army will be perfected.
The Deputy Speaker of the Security Council also added that President Vladimir Putin has decided to continue the program of adding contract soldiers to the army in 2024. According to him, this is facilitated by the high level of patriotism and the desire of Russians to defend their homeland.
Medvedev stated that since the beginning of this year, nearly 385,000 people have joined the military service for the benefit of the armed forces, including 305 contract soldiers and approximately 80,000 volunteers. He noted that more than 1,600 people join the agreement every day. At the same time, all Russian servicemen deserve the utmost respect and should be provided with all necessary support in the future, concluded the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council, Medvedev.
