The US military claims to have destroyed 17 Iranian ships and 2,000 targets. Meanwhile, Israel launched a "large-scale wave of attacks" on March 4.
According to TASS on March 4, Admiral Brad Cooper, head of the US Central Command (CENTCOM), announced that the US military had destroyed 17 Iranian vessels, including one submarine.
"We destroyed 17 Iranian vessels, including the most effective submarine, which now has a hole in its hull," Admiral Cooper said. A video of his statement was posted on the command's X page.
In addition, the US military stated that currently no Iranian warships are operating in the Persian Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz, or the Gulf of Oman.
Earlier, on March 3, the US military commander in the Middle East stated that US forces had attacked nearly 2,000 targets in Iran so far, as part of the largest intensification of firepower in the region.
"We struck nearly 2,000 targets with more than 2,000 warheads. We severely weakened Iran's air defenses and destroyed hundreds of Iranian ballistic missiles, launchers, and drones," Admiral Brad Cooper said in a video message.
"The first 24 hours of this operation were nearly twice the scale of the first day of the 'shocking and devastating' attacks on Iraq in 2003, and we continue with 24/7 attacks on Iran," Brad Cooper added.
On the Israeli side, the military announced on March 4th the launch of a "large-scale wave of attacks" targeting objectives in Iran, following the Islamic Republic's multiple missile launches into Israeli territory.
The Iranian military said the targets of the latest attacks included "missile launch sites, air defense systems and other infrastructure."
Air raid sirens blared across many areas of Israel on the night of March 3rd as the military attempted to intercept Iranian fire.
There were no immediate reports of significant impact, although police said ammunition landed in the Tel Aviv area, where one woman sustained minor injuries from shrapnel.
