(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of October 24th, the 4th Military Region Command held a conference to summarize 20 years of implementing the Ordinance on Reserve Mobilization Forces (1996-2016). Lieutenant General Nguyen Quoc Khanh, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, attended and directed the conference.

Over the past 20 years, the Party Committee and Command of Military Region 4, local Party committees and authorities, and commanders of agencies and units within the Military Region's armed forces have thoroughly and actively implemented the Ordinance on Reserve Mobilization Forces in a comprehensive and synchronized manner…

Overview of the conference.

To date, localities and units have fully established 100% of the organizational structures for reserve forces; the staffing of reserve soldiers in reserve forces units has reached 96% of the target, an increase of 14.1% compared to 1996. Of which, reserve officers reached 82%; reserve non-commissioned officers and soldiers reached 97.2%.

Training, drills, and readiness checks for mobilization have been thoroughly and effectively implemented by agencies, localities, and units. Annual training and readiness check results consistently reach 90 to 98.2% of the assigned targets…

At the conference, in addition to evaluating the achievements, delegates also pointed out difficulties, shortcomings, and lessons learned; and proposed solutions to improve the quality and effectiveness of building the reserve force in the future.

Certificates of merit were awarded to collectives and individuals who achieved outstanding results in the 20 years of implementing the Ordinance.
