The investigative police agency of the Ministry of Public Security has determined that the defendants show signs of committing the crime of producing counterfeit food products and deceiving customers, as stipulated in Articles 193 and 198 of the Penal Code.
According to information from the authorities, Pham Quang Linh, also known as Quang Linh Vlog, and Nguyen Thi Thai Hang, also known as Hang Du Muc, are well-known figures on social media.
Previously, these two, along with Miss Vietnam Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien, frequently livestreamed on social media, promoting Kera vegetable candy. The product, manufactured by CER Company (Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City), was announced and launched on the market at the end of 2024.
Quang Linh and Hang Du Muc were subsequently fined for misleading advertising regarding the quality of their advertised products. The fine for this offense was 70 million VND per person.
The candy is manufactured by ASIA LIFE Joint Stock Company in Buon Ma Thuot, Dak Lak. Mr. Le Tuan Linh, General Director of CER, said that the raw materials are sourced from areas in Lam Dong, Dak Lak, and Binh Thuan, "ensuring quality and clear origin," and 100% of the products are manufactured at the ASIA factory.

These products are being promoted through the media and social networks with misleading information, for example, "one pill replaces a plate of green vegetables".
However, a user took the candy to the Center for Technical Standards and Quality Measurement 2 for testing, and the results showed that the entire box of 30 candies contained only 0.51 grams of fiber, far different from what was advertised.
CER announced that it has sold over 100,000 boxes of candy to the market, and is committed to providing a full refund if buyers wish to return the goods.
