In Vietnam, quartz ore is currently widely used in the production of artificial stone. Quartz is the most important material in the production of artificial stone. According to this expert, quartz ore is not usually concentrated in mines, but rather forms along fault lines, scattered and not concentrated in one area.
However, information and images of quartz ore deposits in the Thanh Son and Thanh Chuong areas indicate that this region possesses quartz ore veins with significant reserves and quality. The competent authorities need to direct specialized agencies to conduct accurate surveys and assessments to ensure effective management and exploitation.

On June 4, 2019, at the site of illegal quartz mining, officials from the Task Force of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment also made similar assessments regarding the quality and value of quartz ore in Thanh Son commune.
According to officials from the Task Force, "White stone in Quy Hop is classified into three types: A, B, and C. After deducting transportation costs, the value of type A is approximately 250,000 VND/ton; type B is about 150,000 VND/ton; and type C is only 50,000 VND/ton. As for this quartz stone, when delivered to the point of need, its price is about 2 million VND/ton. After deducting transportation costs, it's still 5 to 6 times more expensive than white stone…"
