From April, Vietnamese tourists can fly directly to Guilin and Yangshuo without needing a visa, opening up opportunities to explore majestic mountain scenery at competitive costs.

From April 11th, Vietnamese tourists will have the opportunity to fly directly to Guilin (China) without needing a visa when participating in all-inclusive tour packages. This is a significant breakthrough that simplifies the journey to explore a region renowned as having some of the most picturesque scenery in the world.

Visa-free policy and convenient flight routes

According to information from travel agencies in Hanoi, the visa exemption policy applies to groups of two or more people from ASEAN countries, purchased through travel agencies approved by the relevant authorities. To enjoy this benefit, tourists must complete immigration procedures at Guilin Airport and have a maximum stay of 144 hours.

The reopening of direct flights combined with a visa exemption policy saves travelers approximately 10 days of waiting time and visa costs equivalent to $30 per person. This not only reduces the financial burden but also allows customers to book tours closer to their departure date more flexibly than before.

Experience the slow pace of life in Yangshuo.

Yangshuo is a highlight of the itinerary, boasting majestic mountains and winding rivers. Compared to traditional land tours, direct flights allow travelers more time to truly immerse themselves in nature instead of expending energy on long journeys.

Competitive pricing and must-see destinations

Priced at approximately 7.3 million VND, the Guilin - Yangshuo air tour is considered a direct competitor to other popular itineraries such as Guizhou, Fenghuang Ancient Town, or Hainan Island. The new itinerary retains iconic attractions but optimizes time and experience.

Typical activities include:

  • Experience bamboo rafting on the Li River:Admire the vibrant, ink-painting-like scenery along both banks of the river.
  • Elephant Trunk Mountain:A distinctive symbol of Guilin city.
  • Kim Thuy Nham Cave:Discover the fantastical underground stalactite and stalagmite formations.
  • Ngu Son Park:This stopover point is steeped in local history and culture.

Besides Guilin, the Chinese tourism market is also expected to see further news from Xishuangbanna with its visa exemption policy for Vietnamese tour groups starting in February 2025. However, Guilin is still expected to be a more attractive destination thanks to its unique limestone landscape and long-established tourism services.

Practical information for tourists:

  • Departure time:Starting from April 11, 2025.
  • Reference tour price:Approximately 7.3 million VND per person.
  • Note:Applicable to groups of 2 or more people entering through Guilin Airport.
