'Rice homeland' strives to produce 270 tons of clean winter mushrooms

(Baonghean.vn) - To achieve the target of producing nearly 270 tons of various types of mushrooms in the 2016 winter crop, farmers in Yen Thanh district (Nghe An) are gathering raw materials and necessary conditions for production; ensuring productivity and quality, meeting market demand.

Mushroom seed facilities in Yen Thanh area prepare 50,000 bags of mushrooms for households to grow winter crop 2016.

Currently, to provide a source of mushroom seeds of all kinds to farmers, the District Mushroom Seed Station and 3 large-scale mushroom farms in the area have focused on investing in facilities, machinery and equipment, gathering hundreds of tons of raw materials, mobilizing workers to pack more than 50,000 bags of mushrooms of all kinds using the method of cell tissue culture and scientific mushroom breeding.

This winter crop, 84 households in 24 communes in Yen Thanh district will grow various types of mushrooms. Edible and medicinal mushrooms that are popular in the market such as oyster mushrooms, button mushrooms, wood ear mushrooms, straw mushrooms, and lingzhi mushrooms are all produced by local farmers according to VietGAP standards, achieving good quality.

To create conditions for people to invest in expanding production scale, Yen Thanh district has also directed associations and localities to open training courses on transferring scientific and technological advances, with a mechanism to support 30% of seed prices and purchase all products...

The total output of mushrooms of all kinds this winter crop in the whole district is expected to reach nearly 270 tons, with revenue of nearly 5 billion VND; this will be an important source of income contributing to improving the lives of local people.
