According to the agenda of the 9th Extraordinary Session of the 15th National Assembly, this morning (February 18th), the National Assembly will hold a plenary session in the assembly hall to vote on the Law on Government Organization (amended). Following that, the National Assembly will hold a closed-door meeting to discuss the organizational structure of the Government for the 15th National Assembly term; the structure and number of Government members for the 15th National Assembly term; the organization of National Assembly agencies; the number of members of the Standing Committee of the 15th National Assembly (amended); and personnel matters.
Next, the National Assembly discussed in groups the draft Resolution of the National Assembly on the organization of the National Assembly's agencies; the draft Resolution of the National Assembly on the number of members of the Standing Committee of the 15th National Assembly (amended); and personnel matters. The National Assembly heard reports explaining and incorporating the opinions of National Assembly deputies discussed in groups on the two draft Resolutions of the National Assembly: the Resolution on the organization of the National Assembly's agencies and the Resolution on the number of members of the Standing Committee of the 15th National Assembly (amended). Afterwards, the National Assembly discussed and voted to approve the two aforementioned Resolutions. In the afternoon, the National Assembly held a closed-door meeting on personnel matters.
Earlier yesterday afternoon (February 17), under the chairmanship of Deputy Speaker Nguyen Khac Dinh, the National Assembly proceeded to vote on the Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on the Organization of the National Assembly. The voting results showed that 461 out of 461 National Assembly deputies voted in favor, representing 100% of the participating deputies and 96.44% of the total number of National Assembly deputies. The National Assembly officially passed the Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on the Organization of the National Assembly.
This Law takes effect from the date of its adoption by the National Assembly. The Committees of the National Assembly and agencies under the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, organized according to Law No. 57/2014/QH13 on the Organization of the National Assembly, as amended and supplemented by Law No. 65/2020/QH, shall continue to operate until the National Assembly or the Standing Committee of the National Assembly makes a decision on the termination of their operations.
