Implementing the socio-economic development plan for 2021, Vietnam achieved and exceeded targets for 7 out of 12 key indicators. In the first months of 2022, with the successful control of the Covid-19 pandemic, macroeconomic stability continued to be maintained, major economic balances were ensured, and inflation was controlled. Economic growth (GDP) in the first quarter reached 5.03%, higher than the same period in 2020 and 2021.

To achieve these results, the National Assembly and the Government promptly issued many policies to support socio-economic recovery and development. In particular, at its first extraordinary session, the National Assembly issued Resolution No. 43 on fiscal and monetary policies with a scale of up to 347,000 billion VND and many unprecedented mechanisms and policies to provide timely support for socio-economic recovery and development, and to proactively combat the epidemic.
