Implementing the 2021 Socio-Economic Development Plan, our country has achieved and exceeded 7/12 main targets. In the first months of 2022, with the basic success in controlling the Covid-19 epidemic, the macro-economy continued to be maintained stably, the major balances of the economy were ensured, and inflation was controlled. Economic growth (GDP) in the first quarter reached 5.03%, higher than the same period in 2020 and 2021.

To achieve that result, the National Assembly and the Government promptly issued many policies to support socio-economic recovery and development. Notably, at the first extraordinary session, the National Assembly issued Resolution No. 43 on fiscal and monetary policies with a scale of up to VND 347,000 billion and many unprecedented mechanisms and policies to promptly support socio-economic recovery and development, and proactively prevent and control the epidemic.

National Assembly deputies expressed their agreement and appreciation for the results of the implementation of the socio-economic development plan and the State budget in 2021; thereby, promptly removing difficulties for businesses and people, the economic and social situation showed signs of recovery and development; however, some limitations were still revealed, such as a number of socio-economic indicators did not meet requirements.

To continue to remove difficulties, delegates proposed that the Government direct and urge ministries, branches and localities to seriously and synchronously implement socio-economic solutions and tasks in 2022 and focused tasks and solutions in the coming time, ensuring the achievement of growth and state budget revenue targets.

Accordingly, delegates focused on directing the drastic and effective implementation of the Socio-Economic Recovery and Development Program according to the Resolutions issued by the National Assembly and the Government; at the same time, emphasizing the need to strongly decentralize and delegate power to localities to implement to ensure progress; speed up the disbursement of public investment capital; have measures to ensure energy security, and control and stabilize gasoline prices.

The delegates also proposed to closely monitor the market prices of goods, especially materials and input materials for industrial and agricultural production.
