The National Assembly held a question-and-answer session at its 7th meeting.

On the morning of June 4th, the 15th National Assembly held its 7th session of questioning and answering, under the chairmanship and direction of Comrade Tran Thanh Man - Member of the Political Bureau and Chairman of the National Assembly.

According to the agenda of the 7th Session, the question-and-answer session of the 15th National Assembly began on the morning of June 4th and lasted for 2.5 days. The question-and-answer activities at this session continued to be conducted in accordance with the regulations of the Law on Supervisory Activities of the National Assembly and People's Councils.

The National Assembly conducts question-and-answer sessions under the responsibility of four ministers and heads of agencies, including: the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, the Minister of Industry and Trade, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the State Auditor General.

The heads of these four sectors will be responsible for answering questions; also participating in the explanations will be the Deputy Prime Ministers in charge of the respective sectors and the relevant Ministers and heads of agencies.

The government has assigned Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha to represent the government, clarify issues related to the government's administration, and directly answer questions from National Assembly deputies at the end of the questioning session.

The National Assembly will vote to approve the Resolution on interpellation activities at the end of the session. This will serve as the basis for agencies to implement the resolution and also as the basis for the National Assembly, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, the agencies of the National Assembly, the National Assembly delegations, and individual National Assembly deputies to supervise the process.

The interpellation session continued in the "quick question, concise answer" format. Accordingly, those answering the questions had no more than 5 minutes to speak on the issue within their area of ​​expertise before the National Assembly proceeded with the interpellation; in each round, the presiding officer invited three representatives to ask questions, with each representative having no more than 1 minute to ask a question; debates were limited to 2 minutes; and answers were limited to 3 minutes per question. Members of the Government and heads of relevant ministries participated in the explanations, under the direction of the presiding officer, to further clarify the issues raised by the National Assembly representatives.

In his opening remarks at the question-and-answer session, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man expressed his confidence that, with their intellect, high sense of responsibility, practical experience, deep expertise, and understanding of the actual situation in localities and grassroots levels, along with the fulfillment of their functions and duties as National Assembly deputies, the question-and-answer session would be lively, constructive, and highly responsible, providing valuable information reflecting the current situation, and offering numerous suggestions and recommendations to the Government, Ministers, and heads of agencies in directing and managing affairs, overcoming limitations, difficulties, and obstacles in practice; further enhancing the question-and-answer activity as an important highlight of the session, meeting the expectations of voters and the people nationwide, and fulfilling the requirements of National Assembly deputies.

Opening the question-and-answer session, the National Assembly proceeded to question the first group of issues in the field of resources and environment; focusing on the management, exploitation, and protection of national marine resources; the implementation of policies and laws on water security; solutions for preventing and combating drought, saltwater intrusion, water scarcity, degradation, and pollution; and solutions for researching, exploring, exploiting, and utilizing mineral resources for construction materials and rare and valuable mineral resources.

Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Dang Quoc Khanh was the main respondent. Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, and the Ministers of Planning and Investment, Finance, Agriculture and Rural Development, Construction, and Transport also participated in answering questions and providing explanations on related issues.
