National Day, September 2nd, in the hearts of the people of Nghe An province.

Diep Thanh - Thanh Quynh September 2, 2025 10:46

Regardless of their background, occupation, or age, every person from Nghe An province carries within them a deep sense of pride and love for their homeland. This sacred feeling becomes even more intense as the country enters a momentous occasion: the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 – August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 – September 2, 2025).

In keeping with that significance, Nghe An's newspapers, radio, and television stations recorded the simple yet heartfelt thoughts and feelings of the people on National Day.

War invalid Pham Trong Song (born 1956) - Nghe An War Invalids Rehabilitation Center.

Being present at the 80th National Day celebration, sitting under the fluttering red flag with a yellow star in the historic Ba Dinh Square, I was truly moved and proud. This is a great honor, a once-in-80-years event that I will never forget. We – the wounded soldiers – have received attentive care and support from the Party and the State: from neatly tailored uniforms and thoughtful meals to ample medicine. This respect warms our hearts and makes us feel that our efforts and sacrifices during the war years have been recognized by the Fatherland.

While I am happy for myself, I feel even more sorrow for my fallen comrades who sacrificed their lives; they did not have the opportunity to see the peaceful beauty of our country today.

The credit for defending the nation belongs to an entire generation. Our generation has fulfilled its duty. Now, our greatest hope is that the younger generation will continue on that path: studying, training, building a stronger and more prosperous country, and maintaining the peace that our ancestors fought for with their blood. The future belongs to you – those who will lead Vietnam to rise and stand shoulder to shoulder with friends from all over the world.

For 40 years, we've been at sea, and each voyage has been a special journey. But as we approach National Day, my fellow crew members and I experience a range of emotions. We carefully hoist the national flag in the most prominent position on our boat. This has long been a traditional custom of fishermen, but with National Day approaching, the flag seems even more special, evoking love for our homeland and national pride.

There were years on National Day when we went out to sea and celebrated the holiday right on the boat. When we turned on the radio and heard the national anthem playing amidst the waves, we paused our work and listened in silence. At that very moment, a strong sense of national pride spread through each of us, like a solid anchor amidst the stormy sea.

Those moments of celebrating Independence Day at sea are unforgettable memories for many fishermen. And those very moments reminded us of the value of freedom and peace, of responsibility, love for our homeland, and the sacred value of each voyage at sea.

I remember the old days when things were scarce, and during holidays and Tet (Vietnamese New Year), sharing a piece of meat between families was considered precious. But now, workers like those at my company not only receive salaries and bonuses, but also 12 days of paid leave per year. This year, for Independence Day, we even received gifts from the Party and the Government. In the workplace, not only does the trade union care for us, but the company leadership also shows concern for our mental and physical health, ensures job stability, pays salaries on time, and even raises us higher than the state-mandated rates... Honestly, with all of this, we couldn't ask for more.

As a foreign direct investment (FDI) enterprise with Japanese investment, the company's leadership highly values the spirit of solidarity among Vietnamese people in general and workers in Nghe An in particular. They affirm that solidarity is the strength that helps Vietnam defeat enemies, overcome difficulties, and achieve success. To promote this strength of solidarity, the company's leadership has created opportunities for us to participate in many collective activities and competitions, supporting us in expressing our patriotism.

Joining in the nationwide celebration of the 80th anniversary of National Day, as a worker, I feel a surge of excitement. I clearly sense the power of unity, both within the factory and in the wider community. It's truly wonderful to know that this strength is fueled by contributions, however small, from workers like us.

I never lived through the historic events of 1945, but through books and documentaries, I understand the sacredness of that moment. Even without witnessing it firsthand, my love for my homeland has silently grown, nurtured by the teachings of my grandparents, parents, and teachers. Today's young generation is fortunate not to have lived through bombs and bullets, but the stories of our heroes have inspired us. Though we lived in different eras and circumstances, we all share a common goal: to build an independent, peaceful, and happy Vietnam.

For me, September 2nd is not just a holiday; it's also a reminder to live responsibly and study hard so that I can contribute to my homeland in the future. Because of this belief, in addition to my studies, I'm working with friends to establish a tourism project for Nghe An, hoping to introduce the beauty of my hometown to more people.

I believe that if every young person nurtures a dream and takes concrete action, our country will have many more "flames" of inspiration. And when we look up at the red flag with a yellow star on Independence Day, millions of those flames will merge into one, illuminating Vietnam's future.

These days, my company and I are fortunate to be involved in several projects serving the important National Day celebrations on September 2nd, such as providing LED screens, sound systems, and lighting at Ho Chi Minh Square (Nghe An) to 3D screens in Binh Duong, Hanoi, Hai Phong, and other locations.

For me, these projects are not just technical or commercial products, but opportunities for myself and my colleagues to contribute to creating unique cultural and artistic spaces, where people can share joy, happiness, and national unity. National Day reminds me of my entrepreneurial journey, of the challenges I've faced, but it's also an opportunity to realize that every contribution – big or small – can spread joy, unity, and national pride to the community.

Love for our country is also the driving force behind our company and other businesses in the province maintaining charitable activities, focusing on disadvantaged areas of the province, especially programs to support people after typhoon No. 3. Every contribution, no matter how small, helps spread joy and sharing, so that the joy of National Day is not only present in festivals but also spreads widely throughout community life.

During these days when the whole country is adorned with flags and flowers celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2nd, from far-off Japan, I am truly moved and proud to remember Independence Day - a great festival of our nation.

National Day on September 2nd is not only a milestone in history, but also a "sacred bond" connecting Vietnamese people wherever they may be. The image of my homeland, the red flag with a yellow star, and President Ho Chi Minh's words reading the Declaration of Independence are sources of energy that strengthen my faith and determination to contribute, even while far from my country. That is also why I have initiated many charitable activities through the SUNSHINE Golden Heart Fund, supporting students in flood-affected areas, accompanying disadvantaged people, and contributing to spreading the spirit of "mutual support and compassion" among Vietnamese people…

At the same time, special attention should be paid to educating children so that they are instilled with a sense of national pride. Wherever they are, every Vietnamese person carries a homeland in their heart, and Independence Day is a day to remind themselves to live more worthily of the name Vietnam.

Duong Thi Lien (born in 1989, Tan Son hamlet, Van Hien commune) – A typical example of a successful woman in production and business in Nghe An province.

These days, Hien Son is bustling with activity. People are joyfully celebrating National Day on September 2nd, with every house and every street filled with vibrant colors. Vegetable gardens and farms are also working hard to supply and display fresh, clean produce, serving the needs of the community while bringing joy and warmth to their local area.

National Day not only reminds us of the glorious history of our nation, but also gives us an opportunity to reflect on our own efforts. For farmers in the modern era, production and business are not just about self-sufficiency, but also about creating quality products, serving the community, contributing to the development of new rural areas, and bringing sustainable economic value.

That motivated me to gradually build a 6,900m² high-tech farm, applying modern techniques to produce products that meet VietGAP standards (in 2023) and OCOP 3-star standards (in 2025). This achievement is a small source of pride for myself and my family, allowing us to contribute to the overall development of the local agricultural sector.

I believe that the patriotism of farmers is clearly demonstrated in their daily labor and production activities. In the coming time, together with local farmers, we will continue to expand the scale and improve the quality of production models, bringing clean and safe products to the community, while contributing to building a more sustainable and prosperous homeland.
