(Baonghean.vn) - Due to the large volume of water flowing from upstream Laos and the record-breaking flood release from the Ban Ve Hydropower Plant, many communes in Tuong Duong district have been flooded. Currently, four sections of National Highway 7A passing through Tuong Duong district are flooded and isolated.

According to Mr. Lo Kham Kha, Head of the Agriculture and Rural Development Department of Tuong Duong district, currently, more than 150 households in Tuong Duong are flooded, with 5 houses in Ban Ve village, Yen Na commune, being swept away. In Hoa Binh town, 15 households are flooded; the lighting system along the Lam River embankment has been swept away. In Thach Giam commune, the kindergarten and the commune People's Committee office are deeply flooded.

Specifically, this morning, National Highway 7A had 4 flooded and isolated points, including 2 points in Tam Quang commune and 2 points in Tam Thai commune.

Lieutenant Colonel Phan Thanh Hong, Commander of Tam Quang Border Guard Station, said: On the night of August 30th, the Tam Quang border guard force divided into two teams, consisting of 16 officers, to coordinate with local authorities to relocate belongings for more than 60 households affected by flooding, while also maintaining a 24/7 guard duty at the flooded areas.
