The Nghe An Children's Protection Fund celebrates its 25th anniversary.

(Baonghean.vn) - After 25 years of development and growth, the Provincial Children's Protection Fund has mobilized over 251 billion VND to support hundreds of thousands of underprivileged children.

On the afternoon of July 19th, the Nghe An Provincial Children's Protection Fund celebrated its 25th anniversary (1994 - 2019).

The ceremony was attended by Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Children's Protection Fund.Representing the province were: Ms. Cao Thi Hien - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; and Mr. Le Ngoc Hoa - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Established in 1994, over 25 years of development and growth, the Provincial Children's Protection Fund has mobilized over 251 billion VND (of which the provincial-level Children's Protection Fund mobilized over 166.6 billion VND) to support over 430,000 children in special and difficult circumstances. The Fund has organized surgeries for over 13,000 disabled children; in addition, 93,000 disabled children and children in difficult circumstances have received support totaling nearly 36 billion VND.

In addition, the Provincial Children's Protection Fund has supported the construction of 533 charitable houses and 76 clean water projects for disadvantaged children in ethnic minority areas; and provided emergency assistance to over 38,000 children who were victims of accidents or orphaned in areas affected by natural disasters and floods.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Ngoc Hoa acknowledged and highly appreciated the activities of the Provincial Children's Protection Fund. He also emphasized that currently, the province still has 15,000 disadvantaged children who urgently need the support of the community. Therefore, the work of the Children's Protection Fund is extremely important and needs to be further promoted to bring joy to underprivileged children.

To commemorate its 25th anniversary, the Provincial Children's Protection Fund received a banner from the Vietnam Children's Protection Fund bearing the inscription "25 years of dedication - transparency - timeliness - collaborative participation"; the Provincial People's Committee awarded it a Commendation Flag for outstanding performance in all aspects of its work, leading the patriotic emulation movement in 2018; one individual was awarded the title of Provincial-level Emulation Soldier; and 16 collectives and individuals received Certificates of Merit from the Provincial People's Committee for their achievements in mobilizing contributions to the Nghe An Children's Protection Fund.

On this occasion, the Provincial Children's Protection Fund presented gifts to 39 children of soldiers serving in coastal and island areas, with each gift worth 2 million VND.
