Nghe An Province Children's Fund celebrates 30th anniversary

On the morning of November 22, Nghe An Province Children's Support Fund celebrated its 30th anniversary.

Attending the ceremony were comrades Dinh Tien Hai - Director of the Vietnam Children's Fund; Bui Dinh Long - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province; Doan Hong Vu - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs and representatives of districts and cities.

After 30 years of construction and development, with the motto of operation "Dedication - Transparency - Timeliness - Participation", "Let's give the best to children", Nghe An Provincial Children's Protection Fund
mobilized more than 240 billion VND (including money, goods and technical expertise), supporting more than 450 thousand disadvantaged children.

From the mobilized resources, the Fund has coordinated with sponsors and localities to take care of more than 137,000 children for health check-ups and disease screening; supported free surgery for more than 13,755 children with various disabilities; awarded nearly 16,000 scholarships and more than 4,300 bicycles to disadvantaged children who strive to excel in their studies; supported more than 4,800 wheelchairs for children with disabilities; organized counseling, early detection therapy and early intervention for more than 28,000 children with autism, physical therapy, and rehabilitation for children with motor disabilities...

Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee congratulated, acknowledged and highly appreciated the sense of responsibility, dynamism and creativity of the Fund's staff.

With its assigned functions and tasks, over the past 3 decades, the Provincial Children's Support Fund has mobilized and supported children in Nghe An through programs and projects such as: Steady Steps, Children's Smiles, Kind Hearts, Children's Eyes, Building Classrooms, Boarding Houses, Overcoming Difficulties Scholarships, Donating Wheelchairs... The programs and projects have helped many children integrate into the community early; ensuring the basic rights of children.

However, the province still has over 13,000 children in special circumstances, nearly 126,000 children at risk of falling into special circumstances. Therefore, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Dinh Long hopes that the Provincial Children's Support Fund will continue to mobilize resources to support, help, and support children to overcome difficulties by applying information technology to implement in a scientific, professional and effective manner, publicly, transparently and economically in receiving, using, and distributing the Fund's resources; thereby, contributing to the completion of the tasks and goals of the Action Program for Children of Nghe An province for the period 2021-2030.
At the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Dinh Long presented the Provincial Children's Fund with a banner bearing the words: "Children's Fund 30 years of construction and development".
On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, and the Provincial Children's Support Fund awarded certificates of merit to honor sponsors and presented gifts to representatives of children in especially difficult circumstances.
