Quy Chau needs to strengthen control of African swine fever
(Baonghean.vn) - Inspecting the work of preventing African swine fever in Quy Chau district, Mr. Nguyen Ba Hao - Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications requested the locality to continue to strengthen disease control work; resolutely handle cases of transporting pigs of unknown origin.
According to the report of the People's Committee of Quy Chau district, on April 17, 2019, African swine fever broke out at Mr. To Duy Tong's household in Quynh 2 hamlet, Chau Binh commune. The herd of pigs infected with the disease and had to be destroyed was 10. On May 18, 2019, the People's Committee of the district issued a decision to declare the end of the epidemic.

However, on June 14, African swine fever broke out in 11 households in Lau village, Chau Phong commune, with 32 pigs destroyed, weighing a total of 791 kg. No other cases have been detected so far.

Continue to strengthen the control of the transportation of animals and animal products in and out of the district; Strengthen control of slaughterhouses; Resolutely handle cases of transporting pigs of unknown origin.
Strengthen information and propaganda on the district and local media systems so that breeders and the community clearly understand the level of danger of African swine fever.
In Quy Chau district, there are currently 26 thousand pigs, including 2 breeding farms, 1 centralized slaughterhouse and 34 households.
