Quy Chau: Releasing 22 bamboo rats into the forest

(Baonghean.vn) - Late afternoon on March 28, Quy Chau Forest Protection Department released 22 bamboo rats back into the natural forest.

This is the number of bamboo rats discovered and caught red-handed by the Traffic Police of Quy Chau District when Lu Van Muoi, residing in Lam village, Tri Le commune (Que Phong district), was transporting them for sale on March 26, 2017.

After being confiscated, the 40 bamboo rats were handed over to the Quy Chau Forest Protection Department for handling. After health checks, 22 were found to be in normal health and 18 were sick, some of which had died. The 22 bamboo rats in normal health were safely released by the district forest rangers in Bu Xen forest, sub-area 199, Chau Hanh commune, Quy Chau district. This is also an area with suitable environment and natural conditions.

Releasing wild animals into the natural environment to conserve biodiversity, protect and develop forests, and preserve and conserve wildlife.
