On September 15, Comrade Le Quang Huy - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee inspected the work of overcoming the consequences of floods in Chau Hoi and Chau Nga communes, Quy Chau district. Accompanying him were leaders of Quy Chau district.

These are two communes of Quy Chau district that suffered heavy damage after heavy rain that lasted from the night of September 13 to the morning of September 14.

In Chau Hoi commune, according to the commune's preliminary report, up to this point, 2 body parts have been discovered floating from elsewhere and their identities have not been determined, 1 bridge in Khun village was broken, 5 houses collapsed and 40 houses were flooded, 6 hectares of fish ponds and 110 hectares of rice and crops were flooded, and 1 35KV high-voltage electric pole was broken, causing a power outage in the entire commune.

Traffic and irrigation works in the commune were almost completely damaged, some villages in the commune are still isolated due to damaged traffic and floods.

In Chau Hoi commune, comrade Le Quang Huy directly inspected a number of traffic works that were severely damaged and swept away by floods in Don village, Khun village and Hoi 2 village; visited and gave gifts and encouraged the family of Ms. Lu Thi Thuy in Khun village, a poor household that was heavily affected by the recent floods.

Next, the Deputy Secretary also inspected the flood recovery situation in Chau Nga commune, inspected some severely damaged traffic and irrigation works, and visited and encouraged the family of Vi Van Hai in Lien Minh village who is missing.

According to the express report of Chau Nga commune, as of 2:00 p.m. on September 15, in Chau Nga commune, over 40/59 hectares of crops were damaged, about 30 meters of asphalt roadbed at Thanh Tan village spillway was washed away by water. The drainage system and Khe Pang dam in Nga Mi village had their spillway bottom washed away by floodwater.

The irrigation canal systems and bridges in Chau Nga commune were almost completely washed away and damaged by the flood. Inter-village and inter-hamlet roads were seriously eroded, hindering the movement of people in the commune.

Directly inspecting the scene after the flood in Chau Hoi and Chau Nga communes of Quy Chau district, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Le Quang Huy requested the authorities of the two communes and Quy Chau district to continue implementing solutions and proactively respond to the flood.

In particular, pay special attention to vulnerable locations at risk of flooding and landslides; do a good job of mobilizing and providing food support to help people affected by damage reduce difficulties and soon stabilize their lives.

Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Le Quang Huy requested Quy Chau district to quickly compile the damage figures so that the province can have a plan to promptly support people in flooded areas.

Immediately after the inspection, the Central Government will provide emergency support in rice and seeds for people to continue production.

The total estimated damage in Quy Chau district after the flood on the night of September 13 and the morning of September 14, 2016 was over 77 billion VND.
