Mr. Le Trong Thin from Ke Ninh village shared: "My family has 1.3 hectares of acacia trees, which are almost 4 years old. We were tending them for about another year before harvesting, but unexpectedly, just one storm knocked down almost all of them. Now we have to cut them down for firewood, and sell some of the young trees."

Mr. Vi The Long, Chairman of the Chau Hanh Commune People's Committee, said: The impact of the heavy rain and thunderstorms from May 7th has caused 247 hectares of acacia trees to be uprooted (mostly 3-5 year old), resulting in losses of over 10 billion VND. The areas with the most uprooted acacia trees are mainly concentrated in the villages of Minh Tien, Ta Lanh, Ta Soi, Dong Minh, Ke Ninh, Dinh Tien, and Ke Bon.

In response to this situation, in recent days the People's Committee of Chau Hanh commune has mobilized militia forces and various organizations to help people clear fallen acacia trees. Regarding the handling of the situation, currently, acacia trees that are 2-3 years old and have fallen must be cut down and replanted.

As for trees that are four years old or older, they can be fully harvested. However, the current difficulty is that over time...glue prices have dropped.Due to a bottleneck in sales, even though the area of ​​fallen and broken acacia trees is being sold at a low price, it is very difficult to sell them.

A representative from the Quy Chau District Department of Agriculture added: Chau Hanh commune is the only commune in the entire district that suffered damage due to fallen acacia trees. Currently, relevant departments and the commune's People's Committee are inspecting and assessing the damage and guiding residents in completing the necessary paperwork to request financial assistance from higher authorities. This will enable them to replant the damaged acacia trees and quickly stabilize their lives.
