Regulations on management of unused land

-Article 221,Land Law 2024 regulates the management of unused landas follows:

1. The People's Committee at the commune level is responsible for managing and protecting unused land in the locality, registering it in the cadastral records and reporting to the People's Committee at the next higher level on the management and exploitation of unused land funds.

2. The People's Committee at the provincial level is responsible for managing unused land on islands that have not been assigned to district and commune-level administrative units for management.

-Article 222,The 2024 Land Law also clearly stipulates the putting of unused land into use., specifically:

1. Based on the planning and land use plans approved by competent authorities, People's Committees at all levels have plans to put unused land into use.

2. The State encourages organizations and individuals to invest in putting unused land into use according to land use planning and plans approved by competent authorities.

3. For land areas planned for agricultural use, priority will be given to individuals residing in the locality who have not been allocated land or lack production land.

4. The State has policies on infrastructure investment in border areas, islands, areas with difficult socio-economic conditions, areas with especially difficult socio-economic conditions, areas with a lot of land but few people to implement plans to put unused land into use; has policies on exemption and reduction of land use fees and land rents in cases of land allocation and lease of unused land to put into use.

5. The Provincial People's Committee shall use the funds collected from revenue sources when permitting the conversion of rice-growing land to other uses and other legal funds to serve the renovation and putting unused land into use.
