Vinh's urban planning needs to be long-term and sustainable.

(Baonghean.vn) - This was a suggestion from voters in Quang Trung ward, Vinh city, at a meeting between voters and representatives of the Provincial People's Council and Vinh City People's Council on the afternoon of November 21st.

On the afternoon of November 21st, the delegates of the Provincial People's Council in electoral unit No. 1 included Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Provincial Agencies Bloc; and the following members of the Provincial Party Committee: Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hoa - Director of the Nghe An Tax Department; and Ms. Tran Thanh Thuy - Director of VNPT Nghe An.

In their feedback to the Provincial People's Council representatives, voters in Quang Trung ward suggested that urban planning should be long-term, sustainable, modern, and civilized, avoiding fragmented, small-scale planning lacking a vision as is currently the case. They also proposed strengthening supervision of investment projects for the construction of apartment buildings with integrated technical and social infrastructure throughout the province. Furthermore, they suggested that the province and city should review projects that have been granted investment licenses but are deliberately delaying implementation.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong, Standing Committee member of the Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Party Committee of the Provincial Agencies Bloc, announced the agenda for the 3rd session of the 17th Provincial People's Council.

Regarding this issue, Mr. Vu Van Chuong, a voter from Block 7, reflected: The quality of apartment building construction has not been adequately managed, and problems only become apparent when incidents occur. The recent crane collapse at Truong Thanh Company, which resulted in the death of a student, demonstrates a laxity in state management of construction. Voters request that relevant departments and agencies strengthen supervision and strictly discipline those who violate regulations.

Voter Nguyen Dong An from Block 1 expressed concern that Vinh City, despite being recognized as a Class 1 urban area, has not lived up to its potential, and that urban planning and management remain fragmented, chaotic, and constantly changing. He suggested that relevant authorities at all levels should develop strategic and sustainable urban planning solutions for Vinh City.

Voter Dao Thi Canh Xuan from Quang Trung ward submitted a petition regarding waste collection and urban order management.

Voters in Quang Trung ward wish to propose that the government implement preferential policies for purchasing resettlement houses or apartments for families with meritorious service to the revolution and disadvantaged households in the Quang Trung apartment complex.

Environmental sanitation and garbage collection are issues of concern and concern to voters. Ms. Dao Thi Khanh Tan, a voter from Block 3, expressed her frustration: "The scattered garbage on main roads and in crowded areas such as schools and hospitals not only detracts from urban aesthetics but also causes environmental pollution."

Voter Vu Van Chuong from Block 7 raised concerns about Vinh City's urban planning and the quality management of apartment building projects.

The encroachment on sidewalks and public spaces for business purposes is a recurring problem, with the city launching numerous campaigns only for things to revert to their previous state. The city needs to restore urban order on main thoroughfares, clearly demarcating sidewalks for businesses and pedestrians; and intensifying inspections and enforcement against businesses that violate regulations or those whose local authorities are not strictly managing the situation. Ms. Tan suggested that the city should find solutions to address this issue, avoiding a "hit-and-run" approach.

Mr. Le Van Ngoc, Vice Chairman of the Vinh City People's Council, explained the issues raised by voters in Quang Trung ward.

The increasing rate of school violence is spreading, and it is suggested that the province should resolutely direct schools to manage students effectively and take measures to protect them; at the same time, strict disciplinary action should be taken if such incidents occur.

Improve the recruitment process and the rotation of city officials to the grassroots level and vice versa through specific policies. Consider transferring management officials from one ward to another to hone their skills and leadership abilities in different units, so that officials can implement policies that are relevant to the people.
