Quy Hop: Vaccination rate for livestock reaches 80%

(Baonghean.vn) - To prevent epidemics in livestock and poultry, Quy Hop district has promoted veterinary work, with the vaccination rate for livestock reaching 80%.

During the spring and autumn crops of 2015, the Provincial People's Committee provided Quy Hop district with more than 45,000 doses of foot-and-mouth disease vaccine, 22,400 doses of anthrax vaccine for cattle, 3,000 doses of cholera vaccine, 4,500 doses of anthrax vaccine for pigs, and 3,000 doses of rabies vaccine for dogs.

After receiving the vaccines, the District Veterinary Station coordinated with the People's Committees of communes and towns to review, count, and grasp the number of livestock and poultry in the area, assign vaccination targets to hamlets and villages, and assign specific tasks to members of the Steering Committee to focus on urging and inspecting implementation. Thanks to that, the livestock in the district has been vaccinated, reaching 80% of the total herd, completing the plan assigned by the province.
