Quy Hop: Livestock vaccination rate reaches 80%

(Baonghean.vn) - To prevent and control diseases in livestock and poultry, Quy Hop district is stepping up veterinary work, with the vaccination rate for livestock reaching 80%.

During the spring and autumn of 2015, Quy Hop district received over 45,000 doses of foot-and-mouth disease vaccine, 22,400 doses of bovine hemorrhagic septicemia vaccine, 3,000 doses of swine cholera vaccine, 4,500 doses of swine hemorrhagic septicemia vaccine, and 3,000 doses of rabies vaccine for dogs from the Provincial People's Committee.

After receiving the vaccines, the district veterinary station coordinated with the People's Committees of communes and towns to conduct a review, compile statistics, and accurately determine the number of livestock and poultry in the area. Vaccination targets were assigned to each hamlet and village, and specific tasks were assigned to members of the Steering Committee to focus on monitoring and inspecting implementation. As a result, 80% of the total livestock in the district were vaccinated, fulfilling the plan assigned by the province.
