Foot-and-mouth disease has appeared in livestock in Quy Hop.

(Baonghean.vn) - Due to the unpredictable weather conditions, foot-and-mouth disease has appeared in buffalo and cattle herds in Chau Ly and Chau Quang communes of Quy Hop district.

According to statistics, 22 buffaloes and cows in Quy Hop district have been infected with foot-and-mouth disease in Chau Ly and Chau Quang communes.

The district has directed two communes to implement disease prevention and control measures such as organizing chemical spraying for disinfection, spreading lime powder in breeding areas, pastures, pathways, and at transportation hubs. 24/7 checkpoints have been established in areas with livestock outbreaks to control the transportation of livestock and livestock products.

The organization signed a commitment with households whose livestock were sick, requiring them to confine their animals for treatment and absolutely not allow them to roam freely; at the same time, they vaccinated the buffalo and cattle herds in the area against foot-and-mouth disease, as this is a dangerous and contagious disease.

For neighboring communes such as Chau Cuong, Chau Thai, and Quy Hop town, it is necessary to strengthen state management in the field of slaughtering; strictly handle cases of transporting, trading, and slaughtering diseased livestock.

The People's Committee of Quy Hop district has assigned the Department of Agriculture and the District Veterinary Station to regularly inspect and monitor the implementation of disease prevention and control in Chau Quang and Chau Ly communes, and to supply disinfectants and vaccines to protect and ensure the healthy development of livestock herds.
