Nghe An's GRDP scale ranks 10th in the country.
(Baonghean.vn) - According to the Nghe An Statistics Office, in 2022, despite facing many difficulties and challenges due to natural disasters and epidemics, Nghe An's economy still maintained a fairly high growth rate of 9.08%, ranking 2nd in the North Central region and 22nd in the country.

In terms of the scale of GRDP growth in the area, with 175,740 billion VND, Nghe An has increased by 20,340 billion VND compared to 2021 (155,400 billion VND), continuing to be in the 10th position in the country for the second year and rising from 3rd position to 2nd position in the North Central region.

The provinces and cities ranked from first to tenth are Ho Chi Minh City with VND 1,479,227 billion, Hanoi with VND 1,195,989 billion, Binh Duong with VND 459,032 billion, Dong Nai with VND 434,990 billion, Ba Ria - Vung Tau with VND 390,293 billion, Hai Phong with VND 365,585 billion, Quang Ninh with VND 269,244 billion, Thanh Hoa with VND 252,672 billion, Bac Ninh with VND 249,376 billion and Nghe An with VND 175,740 billion.

Total state budget revenue in 2022 of Nghe An reached VND 20,370 billion, exceeding 35.65% of the estimate assigned by the Provincial People's Council and increasing by 1.89% over the same period in 2021. Of which, domestic revenue is estimated at VND 19,000 billion, exceeding 38.72% of the estimate, increasing by 3.60% over the same period. Revenue from import and export activities is estimated at VND 1,350 billion, exceeding 3.85% of the estimate and equal to 81.70% over the same period. Total local budget expenditure is estimated to be implemented in the whole year of 2022 at VND 32,542.8 billion, reaching 104.77% of the estimate, of which, expenditure for development investment is VND 10,739.1 billion, reaching 110.84% of the estimate.
Also according to Nghe An Statistics Office, by 2021, Nghe An's population will be more than 3.4 million people, mainly living in rural areas (with 84.5%), population density is 207 people/km2.
Nghe An currently has an area of 16,490.25 km2, the largest in the country, with 21 administrative units, including: 1 city, 3 towns and 17 districts. Of which,Vinh city is a class 1 urban area.directly under the province; 3 towns are Cua Lo, Hoang Mai and Thai Hoa; 17 districts are Dien Chau, Quynh Luu, Yen Thanh, Do Luong, Nghi Loc, Hung Nguyen, Nam Dan, Thanh Chuong, Tan Ky, Anh Son, Con Cuong, Nghia Dan, Quy Hop, Quy Chau, Que Phong, Tuong Duong, Ky Son.
