Nghe An's economic scale has surpassed 200 trillion VND.
By the end of 2024, Nghe An's GRDP at current prices is estimated to reach over 216.9 trillion VND.
According to the Nghe An Provincial Statistics Department, with a growth rate of 9.01% in 2024, the size of Nghe An's economy will increase by more than VND 114,416 billion compared to 2023; bringing the total size of the economy (at current prices) to more than VND 216,943 billion.
Of this total, the agricultural, forestry, and fisheries sector accounted for over 46,696 billion VND, representing 21.52%; the industrial sector accounted for over 67,792 billion VND, representing 31.25%; the service sector accounted for over 92,590 billion VND, representing 43.69%; and product taxes less product subsidies accounted for over 9,864 billion VND, representing 4.55%.
With relatively high growth rates, exceeding the national average: 6.13% in 2021; 8.78% in 2022, 7.14% in 2023, and 9.01% in 2024, Nghe An's economy has continuously expanded in recent years.
Specifically, in 2020, the province's economy reached over 144,523 billion VND, in 2021 it reached 155,441 billion VND, in 2022 it reached nearly 176,000 billion VND, in 2023 it reached nearly 193,374 billion VND (ranking 10th among provinces and cities with the largest economies in the country), and in 2024 it is expected to reach over 216,943 billion VND (equivalent to over 8.54 billion USD); this is the first year that Nghe An's economy has exceeded 200,000 billion VND.
In 2025, Nghe An province is aiming for double-digit growth.
According to data recently released by the General Statistics Office: In 2024, Vietnam achieved a GDP growth rate of 7.09%, raising the size of the economy's GDP to 11,512 trillion VND, equivalent to approximately 476 billion USD, and GDP per capita to 4,700 USD/person, an increase of 377 USD compared to 2023.
