(Baonghean.vn) - In addition to the 8 lecturers from Vinh University who have been recognized as meeting the standards for the titles of Professor and Associate Professor, Dr. Duong Dinh Chinh, Acting Director of the Department of Health, has also been recognized as meeting the standards for the title of Associate Professor.

On January 31st and February 1st, 2018, in Hanoi, the State Council for Professor Titles (HĐCDGSNN) for the 2014-2019 term held its 7th session. At this session, the HĐCDGSNN reviewed and voted on the candidates who met the standards for the titles of Professor and Associate Professor in 2017.
Accordingly, in 2017, 85 people met the criteria for the title of professor and 1141 people met the criteria for the title of associate professor. Compared to 703 people in 2016, the number of people meeting the criteria for professor and associate professor in 2017 was 534 higher, 1.74 times higher. Compared to 2015, the number of people meeting the criteria for professor and associate professor in 2017 was 2.35 times higher.
The youngest person to be appointed professor in 2017 was Associate Professor Pham Hoang Hiep, born on March 1, 1982 in Hai Duong, from the Institute of Mathematics, Vietnam Academy of Science. His main research areas are: Polypotential theory, Analysis and complex geometry.
The youngest associate professor in 2017 was Mr. Do Duc Thuan (Hanoi University of Science and Technology), 32 years old, in the field of Mathematics.
The oldest professor, born in 1943 and now 75 years old, is Professor La Hue Cam, a Linguistics professor at Ho Chi Minh City University of Education.
