Quynh Luu embraces the sea with open arms.

(Baonghean) - With nearly 20km of coastline, many beautiful beaches; abundant and diverse marine resources; many beautiful scenic spots; and many traditional folk festivals reflecting the unique cultural identity of the region, Quynh Luu offers an attractive tourism experience.The district has great potential and advantages for developing beach tourism combined with cultural and historical tourism and commercial services.

Unlocking potential

To exploit its tourism potential and meet the needs of domestic and international tourists, Quynh Luu has recently completed and put into use key tourist routes such as the Van - Bang route; the Hau - Doi - Yen - Minh route; the Thach - Thanh - Luong route; provincial road 537B; and upgraded, renovated, and invested in the transportation system of coastal communes.

The clean water system and the electricity grid, including substations serving coastal tourism, have basically met the needs for daily life, tourism, and commercial services. New restaurants and hotels have been built with an investment of nearly 150 billion VND. The scale, quality, and service system of accommodation establishments have increased. Currently, the district has 20 accommodation establishments (3 hotels and 17 guesthouses) with over 300 rooms and more than 500 beds to serve thousands of tourists. Food and beverage establishments have increased in both quantity and quality; there are currently over 30 restaurants and 40 eateries. The workforce in the tourism sector has increased rapidly in both quantity and quality.

In Quynh Luu, tourists can visit cultural and historical relics, ancestral temples, pagodas, and shrines. They can also visit and learn about economic models and traditional craft villages. Relaxation and beach activities are the main types of tourism, concentrated in coastal communes, mainly Quynh Nghia and Quynh Bang.

Along with that are recreational and commercial services such as tennis, mini football, badminton, volleyball, and the development of karaoke restaurants… Particularly, commercial services in Quynh Luu mainly exploit some of the district's advantageous products, including processed products from rare aquatic and marine resources such as seaweed jelly, fish sauce, squid, fish, shrimp, crab, shellfish, snails, clams, and mussels… and products harvested and produced from traditional craft villages such as vegetables, fruits, deer antlers, rattan and bamboo weaving, household wooden furniture, and high-end wooden furniture…

Mr. Hoang Danh Lai, Chairman of the People's Committee of Quynh Luu District, said: "2015 marked the flourishing of Quynh Luu's coastal tourism, with the appearance of a resort at Quynh Nghia beach, with a total investment of approximately 70 billion VND in phase 1. With comprehensive investment, this tourist area has created a highlight, attracting a large number of visitors to the Quynh coastal region."

Mr. Nguyen Duc Thuan, the investor in the construction of the resort at Quynh Nghia beach, shared: "In early 2014, the resort officially commenced construction with a total area of ​​6.5 hectares. Phase 1 has only completed 1/4 of the project, including the restaurant area, the resort area, and 20 independent bungalow-style rooms. Construction will continue in the near future, including the villas, a 3,000m2 conference center, sports fields, and a swimming pool area... with a total investment of nearly 200 billion VND. To welcome this year's tourist season, the Quynh Nghia Resort is preparing the best facilities and conditions to welcome tourists."

New tourist destinations in 2016

According to the plan of the District People's Committee, the opening activities for the 2016 Quynh Beach tourism season will take place from April 28th to May 2nd, 2016. The event will be held at the Rubystar Beach Quynh Resort in Quynh Nghia commune. The opening activities will include sports, cultural and artistic performances, and product exhibitions.

The participating teams competed in a celebration to welcome the opening ceremony of Quynh Beach Tourism 2015.

In terms of sports, competitions will be held for artificial turf football, beach volleyball, tennis, tug-of-war, coracle boat racing, etc., for communes, towns, agencies, units, and clubs in the district. The qualifying rounds will begin on April 22nd, and the finals will be held on April 29th. In addition to the district-level competition, Ruby Star Beach Quỳnh Resort will also host a friendly match between star players from Song Lam Nghe An and Ho Chi Minh City clubs.

On weekends or during summer holidays, Quynh Lap beach has become a popular destination for many families.

In terms of culture and arts, the event will include a "Quynh Beach Singing Contest," performances by professional troupes, and a traditional drum performance. The "Quynh Beach Singing Contest" is open to civil servants, public employees, students, and citizens aged 16 to 35 residing in Quynh Luu district. The preliminary round will be held on April 20th, after which six outstanding contestants will be selected for the final round on the evening of April 29th. During this event, Quynh Luu will also showcase and introduce local specialties such as fish sauce, various types of dried fish, squid, and shrimp, as well as unique products from local craft villages.

Mr. Hoang Danh Lai – Chairman of the People's Committee of Quynh Luu District – emphasized: Quynh Luu has identified the main types and clusters of tourism, including: beach tourism and resort tourism (coastal communes); cultural and spiritual tourism (communes with ranked historical, cultural, and spiritual relics; festivals, temples, pagodas, and Buddhist and Catholic places of worship); and ecological tourism and sightseeing (communes with mountains, caves, headwater forests, traditional craft villages, agricultural production, aquaculture, and fisheries). The goal is that by 2020, tourism will fundamentally become an important economic sector, with professionalism, a relatively synchronized and modern technical infrastructure system; and high-quality, diverse tourism products with strong regional cultural identity.
