With an area of about 7 hectares of land rented from the commune, in 2006, Mr. Nguyen Canh Thang (born in 1971, in hamlet 5, Quynh Tan commune) boldly borrowed capital from the bank and his brothers to buy deer and elk breeds to develop livestock farming. Currently, his farm has 80 animals, including 60 elk and 20 deer. |

Of the 80 deer, 50 have been used for velvet antlers. On average, each deer gives about 2-3 kg of velvet antlers/year; deer 5-7 taels of velvet antlers/year. Each year, his family collects 100 kg of velvet antlers. |

In 2013, Mr. Thang boldly went to the northern provinces to rent land and opened 3 more farms in Hoa Binh, Quang Ninh and Hanoi to raise a total herd of up to 120 deer.
