Quynh Tho (Quynh Luu): Opening Ceremony of Duc Ong Temple
On the afternoon of April 22, the People's Committee of Quynh Tho commune (Quynh Luu) organized the opening ceremony of Duc Ong temple festival 2016.
Duc Ong Temple in Tho Dong Village, Quynh Tho Commune, worships the god Sat Hai Dai Vuong, who contributed to the resistance war against the Yuan-Mongol invaders in the 13th century. Here, fishermen also worship the whales that drifted ashore and were buried in the area.

In 2015, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nghe An conducted research, surveys, and guided the locality to prepare a dossier to rank the Duc Ong Temple as a relic.

This year's temple festival takes place on April 22 and 23 (ie March 16 and 17 of the lunar calendar) with rituals of worship, offering ceremony, offering ceremony, thanksgiving ceremony... in which the focus is the calling ceremony and the procession of Duc Ong, in addition to organizing folk games with strong national character.
