11 year old girl drowned while catching snails
(Baonghean.vn) - According to information from the People's Committee of Ngoc Lam commune (Thanh Chuong), on the afternoon of August 23, a tragic drowning incident occurred in the area, the victim was Vi Thi Thu Thuy (born 2007).

Accordingly, at around 2:00 p.m. on August 23, Vi Thi Thu Thuy and her younger brother Vi Hai Huy (nearly 5 years old) in Muong village, Ngoc Lam commune (Thanh Chuong) went to Man Tac stream to catch snails. While on the shore, seeing her sister slip into the water and call for help, Duy ran into the village (more than 50 meters away from the snail-catching location) to call for help. But at that time, most of the villagers had gone to work, when they found her, Thuy had died from drowning.

Currently, Vi Thi Thu Thuy has been brought home to carry out funeral procedures according to local customs.
It is known that recently there has been continuous heavy rain, the water in Man Tac stream has risen, very dangerous for passersby, especially children.
