An 11-year-old girl drowned while collecting snails in a stream.
(Baonghean.vn) - According to information from the People's Committee of Ngoc Lam commune (Thanh Chuong district), a tragic drowning incident occurred in the area on the afternoon of August 23rd. The victim was Vi Thi Thu Thuy (born in 2007).

According to the report, at approximately 2 PM on August 23rd, Vi Thi Thu Thuy and her younger brother, Vi Hai Huy (nearly 5 years old), from Muong village, Ngoc Lam commune (Thanh Chuong district), went to Man Tac stream to collect snails. While on the bank, Duy saw his sister slip and fall into the water and cry for help. He ran into the village (more than 50 meters from where they were collecting snails) to call for help. However, most of the villagers had already gone to work, and by the time they found her, Thuy had already drowned.

Currently, Vi Thi Thu Thuy has been brought home for funeral arrangements according to local customs.
Reportedly, there has been continuous heavy rain recently, causing the water level in the Man Tac stream to rise, posing a significant danger to passersby, especially young children.
