The 2025 tourist season marks a significant transformation for Cua Lo beach as it enters its first year as part of Vinh City, with many positive signs.
According to the Department of Culture, Science and Information of Vinh City, during the recent April 30th - May 1st holiday, the city welcomed and served over 460,000 visitors, including approximately 190,000 overnight guests. Tourism revenue reached about 330 billion VND. Notably, Cua Lo beach area received approximately 322,000 visitors, accounting for 70% of the total number of tourists visiting Vinh City during the holiday.

Visitors to Cua Lo are not only attracted by its long, white sandy beaches and clear blue waters, but also by the lively and bustling atmosphere from morning till night. From early morning, the Binh Minh Square area is bustling with sports activities such as jogging, cycling, and community yoga… As night falls, Cua Lo beach transforms into a dazzling spectacle with street art performances, folk songs, nighttime food stalls, and unique OCOP (One Commune One Product) products. The city center streets are always crowded with people checking in, shopping, and eating, creating a vibrant, festive atmosphere that lasts for days.

A highlight of the series of activities was the Cua Lo Beach Tourism Festival 2025, which opened on the evening of April 19th. The elaborate artistic program, featuring many famous singers and artists, attracted tens of thousands of locals and tourists, creating a rare and vibrant atmosphere.
Beyond just swimming at the beach, many tourists also choose to explore surrounding destinations such as Lan Chau Island, Van Loc Temple, Hai Giang fish sauce village, Nghi Thuy fishing port, etc.
Coastal fishing villages have also seen a significant increase in the number of visitors enjoying fresh seafood. In particular, tourism services have improved noticeably, with friendly staff, stable prices, and well-arranged amenities, all contributing to a more positive experience for tourists.
According to reports, security and safety at tourist areas and attractions along Cua Lo beach during the recent holiday were well-maintained, contributing to building the image of a safe and friendly destination.
Listen to feedback and promptly address shortcomings.
Despite achieving many positive results, the recent holiday also revealed some shortcomings in the organization and provision of services at Cua Lo beach resort, most notably the issue of the freshwater shower system.
On forums and social media, many tourists have reported problems with weak water pressure, water containing impurities, or shower heads that are out of water. Some places have also reported broken showerheads, unsightly leaks, or people leaving the taps on after showering, causing water waste.
In addition, some shower heads are soiled with litter such as discarded shampoo bottles and plastic bags, causing wastewater to stagnate. The public toilets located in the shower area, for free use by the public, are dirty due to a lack of regular cleaning.
Furthermore, the phenomenon of canoes encroaching on the beach area to solicit customers still occurs, posing a safety risk. At certain times, the free parking area is chaotic, lacking guidance and regulation, leading to traffic congestion… Although the Urban Enforcement and Rescue Team have issued warnings, due to the new beach organization model and limited personnel, control is not yet thorough.

Speaking with a reporter from Nghe An Newspaper, Mr. Le Sy Chien, Vice Chairman of the Vinh City People's Committee, said: "After receiving feedback, during the peak holiday period, we went directly to the scene to inspect and survey, even acting as tourists to assess the situation firsthand."
Upon inspection, water quality at some locations remained satisfactory, but due to the large number of visitors, especially on April 30th and May 1st, the supply system was unable to keep up with the demand, resulting in unavoidable low water pressure at some showers. However, the inspection team did not record any showers completely without fresh water.
Regarding the unsanitary conditions of public restrooms and the chaotic state of parking areas, the city will direct relevant authorities to rectify these issues during this year's tourist season. In addition, the city will intensify efforts to educate tourists about maintaining public hygiene, avoiding littering, and promoting responsible use of the free clean water system by turning it off after showering.

A representative from Nghe An Urban Environment and Construction Joint Stock Company - the unit temporarily managing the freshwater shower system - stated that the shower system investment model was based on research and examples from several major beaches such as Da Nang and Nha Trang. However, during peak holiday periods, some taps experienced weak or dripping water.
The problem stems from the current system's combination of previously installed, small-scale shower systems and new equipment invested in by the company, which is not yet fully synchronized. Part of the problem also arises from improper use by residents, such as turning valves too forcefully or failing to shut off the water after use, causing equipment damage. To improve the situation, the company has urgently added two high-capacity pumps, bringing the total to seven pumps operating 24/7, ensuring that the low water pressure issue will not recur.
On May 5th, the first working day after the holiday, the Vinh City People's Committee held an emergency meeting with relevant units to comprehensively review and assess existing problems and propose corrective measures. The city also requested the Provincial People's Committee to allow the organization of a bidding process to select professional tourism service providers to improve the quality and uniformity of services at Cua Lo beach. While awaiting the bidding process, the management of the shower facilities will continue to be handled by the Nghe An Urban Environment and Construction Joint Stock Company.
Although we haven't fully met expectations, the bold move to modernize and improve the marine environment has created a breakthrough. We are open to receiving feedback from residents and tourists and will continue to adjust and refine our approach in the future.
