Trash and waste rock 'attack' the landscape of Tuong Duong cassava forest
(Baonghean.vn) - Recently, Tuong Duong cajuput forest (Tam Dinh commune, Tuong Duong district) has been 'surrounded' by a large amount of all kinds of waste.

Arriving at the Tuong Duong cajuput forest on November 4, we discovered a large amount of waste, from household waste such as plastic pipes, plastic bags... to hard waste such as concrete, asphalt... This amount of waste amounted to dozens of cubic meters.
In particular, the tens of meters high cassia trees are being piled up with solid waste at the base. The location of the waste is right in the middle of the cassia forest near km 130 + 600 of National Highway 7.

PV's investigation shows that although the incident has been happening for many days, the authorities have yet to detect and handle it.
Through the reporter's contact, Mr. Vi Van Thang - Chairman of Tam Dinh Commune People's Committee said: "I will send forestry and land officials to check."
Mr. Nguyen Huu Hien - Head of the Forest Protection Department of Tuong Duong district said that today, a delegation from the Department of Tourism is surveying the Tuong Duong cassia forest to develop tourism. Regarding the above incident, the department is not yet aware of it. However, the department will specifically check and have a direction for handling.

Tuong Duong cassia forest is a special use forest of Tuong Duong mountainous district in particular and Nghe An province in general. Tuong Duong cassia forest has an area of over 70 hectares, assigned to 11 households in Quang Thinh village for management. The forest not only has significance in terms of natural resources but also is a typical landscape, symbolizing Tuong Duong mountainous district. Tourists from near and far when coming to Tuong Duong mountainous district cannot ignore this majestic landscape. For that reason, many people have compared this to the most beautiful cassia forest in Indochina, a giant air conditioner of the Western region of Nghe An.

Currently, the Tuong Duong cajuput forest is being "surrounded" by garbage, which is one of the risks that is damaging the landscape. Not only that, the garbage dumped in the forest also pollutes the environment, affecting the vitality of these precious cajuput trees.
