(Baonghean.vn) - Vinh Citadel is an important historical relic located in the center of Vinh city. Currently, around the relic, there are many spontaneous garbage dumping spots that are very unsightly.

Vinh Citadel was built in 1804 under the reign of King Gia Long. In 1831, under the reign of King Minh Mang, the citadel was upgraded to be more solid. Currently, Vinh Citadel has 3 remaining gates located in 3 wards: Cua Nam, Quang Trung, and Doi Cung. Photo: Hai Vuong

Despite being an important historical site, currently, around the city gates, garbage is being dumped indiscriminately. In the photo: garbage piled up in front of Ta Mon, Dao Tan street. Photo: PV

In 1998, Vinh Citadel was ranked as a national monument by the Ministry of Culture and Information. In 2004, Vinh City People's Committee implemented a project to restore 3 gates of the citadel. Currently, some items of the citadel have also shown signs of deterioration. Photo: PV

Huu Mon Gate, located in Doi Cung Ward, on Dao Tan Street, is also in a state of disrepair due to garbage. Due to the large amount of garbage that accumulates, causing pollution, people have had to burn garbage in front of the gate. Photo: PV

Not only garbage, but the roads around Vinh Citadel also have restaurants with giant billboards, occupying the entire sidewalk, ruining the beauty of the relic. Photo: PV
