Zidane and his team set a new unbeaten record when they held Sevilla to a 3-3 draw in the second leg of the King's Cup round of 16.

Goals: Danilo 10' own goal, Jovetic 54', Iborra 77' - Asensio 48', Ramos 83' penalty, Benzema 90'+3

The draw with Sevilla was Real's 40th consecutive unbeaten match. This is a new record in Spanish football, surpassing the previous record of 39 matches shared by Real and Barca.

Sevilla could have stopped Real's record if they had kept up their momentum in the final minutes. The home team at Sanchez Pizjuan were leading 3-1 until the 82nd minute. In the final 10 minutes, Real scored two goals in quick succession thanks to Sergio Ramos' Panenka penalty and Benzema's decisive goal.

Having won the first leg 3-0, Real rested many key players in the second leg such as Ronaldo, Modric and Varane. This could be the reason why Sevilla had a better game and found a way to get past goalkeeper Kiko Casilla. From the tenth to the 77th minute, the home team took the lead three times thanks to an own goal by defender Danilo, goals from Steven Jovetic and Vicente Iborra.

Real started to play strongly from the beginning of the second half, including a 1-1 equalizer from Marco Asensio's solo goal. As the match progressed, coach Zidane's team attacked more effectively. In the 83rd minute, captain Ramos reduced the score to 2-3 for Real with an artistic Panenka-style penalty kick. In the third minute of extra time, Benzema equalized 3-3 with a shot that hit the opposing defender Lenglet and went into the net.
