RedMagic Astra 2: A gaming tablet with a 185Hz OLED display and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip is coming soon.
RedMagic has confirmed the global launch of the Astra 2 tablet, boasting powerful specifications. The device features a 185Hz OLED display, a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, and water cooling.
RedMagic, a brand specializing in gaming devices, has officially confirmed the international launch of its latest flagship tablet, the Astra 2. This is considered the global version of the RedMagic Gaming Tablet 5 Pro, which will soon be released in the domestic market.

The Astra 2's arrival follows the success of its predecessor, which launched in June 2025. Although RedMagic hasn't announced a specific price or exact release date, leaked specifications from the domestic version suggest it's a true performance "beast" in the Android tablet segment.
185Hz OLED display leads the segment.
The most notable highlight of the RedMagic Astra 2 is its display. The device boasts a 9.06-inch OLED screen, a size that's compact enough to hold comfortably while gaming, yet large enough for a spacious entertainment experience. Notably, the refresh rate is boosted to 185Hz, far exceeding the standard 120Hz or 144Hz found on most high-end tablets today.
The screen's maximum brightness reaches 1,600 nits, allowing for comfortable use even in bright light conditions. With OLED technology, the contrast and color on the Astra 2 promise a vivid visual experience, especially in graphically intensive games.
Breakthrough performance with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip.
In terms of internal power, the RedMagic Astra 2 is equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. This is the most powerful flagship chipset, similar to the one used in the Lenovo Legion Tab Gen 5. To maintain stable performance over the long term, RedMagic has integrated a dedicated water-cooling system, which helps control temperature optimally when handling demanding tasks or playing games at the highest settings.
Large battery capacity and convenient dual connection ports.
To meet the demands of heavy usage, the device is equipped with an 8,300 mAh battery, a slight increase from the 8,200 mAh of the previous generation. 80W fast charging technology significantly reduces waiting time. A major plus for gamers is the presence of two USB-C ports, allowing for flexible charging and accessory connection or image output simultaneously.
