Galaxy Z Fold8 leaks: Samsung surprises by not making significant upgrades to the screen and S Pen.
The Galaxy Z Fold8 and Z Fold8 Wide foldable phones may not feature Privacy Display, S Pen support, or improved screen folding as expected.
According to the latest leaks from rumor expert Ice Universe, Samsung's next-generation foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z Fold8, may not offer significant breakthroughs in display technology. Instead of drastic improvements to compete with rivals, Samsung seems to be opting for a safer approach for its upcoming high-end devices.
The Galaxy Z Fold8 may retain the same screen design as its predecessor.
Although the Galaxy Z Fold7 received much positive feedback for significantly blurring the crease on the inner screen, expectations for a further improvement on the Galaxy Z Fold8 may be dashed. Reports indicate that the degree of visibility of the crease on the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Fold8 Wide will not be noticeably different from its predecessor.

Lacking premium features: S Pen and Privacy Display
One of the most disappointing aspects for fans is the possibility that the Galaxy Z Fold8 will not support the S Pen. This has always been a signature accessory that optimizes the large-screen work experience of the Fold series. In addition, the Privacy Display feature, rumored to be inherited from the Galaxy S26 Ultra, is also unlikely to appear on the new foldable models.

The absence of these technologies could cause the Galaxy Z Fold8 to lose its competitive edge in terms of usability and privacy, two factors that ultra-premium users are particularly concerned about in their daily use.
Competitive pressure and projected launch timeline
With other smartphone manufacturers constantly releasing thinner foldable phones with advanced display technology, Samsung's decision to maintain the same screen specifications may be controversial. However, completely eliminating the screen crease remains a complex technical challenge even for leading panel manufacturers.

The Galaxy Z Fold8 series is expected to be launched this summer. Although current leaks suggest limited upgrades, users still expect the South Korean tech giant to bring other software or performance improvements to maintain its leading position in the foldable phone market.
